Every month, VineBox curates and delivers “3 spectacular wines in perfectly measured pours straight to your door.”
Wines are handpicked by sommeliers from boutique wineries across Europe and then transferred into VineBox’s signature glass vials using proprietary technology that preserves the integrity of the wine.
When you sign up for a VineBox subscription, you take a short quiz about your wine preferences. (You can choose whether to receive all reds, all whites, or a mix and you can let VineBox know how adventurous of a drinker you are.) The wines I received reflect my quiz answers, so keep in mind that your VineBox might be totally different!
Each box contains three vials, and each vial contains 10 centiliters of wine. (FYI- 10 centiliters = 3.38 oz., which is about 3/4 the size of a full glass of wine.) The design on each vial maintains the vineyard’s original bottle design.

My VineBox sends cards for each wine inside a cute envelope.
The cards provide information about the months’ wines and, on the back, share some general info about winemaking.
Estola Verdejo - $7 per glass
When I took my VineBox quiz, I opted to receive a mix of both red and white wine, and this box contained one glass of white and two glasses of red. The white, a Spanish Verdejo, is a very light and refreshing wine. I tend to go for heavier wines during the winter, and this is probably the lightest tasting wine I’ve had in a couple of months. Perhaps for that reason, I found it to be a breath of fresh air. VineBox recommends looking for flavors of tropical fruit and white tea, and suggests pairing this wine with fish or seafood. I ended up drinking it alongside a bowl of shrimp pasta, and it was a fantastic combination.
Demarie Barbera - $9 per glass
The next two wines I received, both Italian reds, are from the same producer, Paolo Demarie. The first is a 100% Barbera that VineBox describes as a “go with anything wine.” I’m a big fan of this wine. It’s fruity and dry, with a nice earthiness and solid tannins. This is a wine I’d be happy to drink on its own, but I think it would also go nicely with a wide range of foods.
Demarie Nebbiolo - $10 per glass
Lastly, I received a glass of 100% Nebbiolo, and when I read VineBox’s description I was immediately intrigued. They describe this wine as tasting like “adult fruit snacks of strawberry, violet, and anise.” Adult fruit snacks? That sounds like something I could get into! This wine is a little drier than the last one, and the flavor is still fruity but a bit more subdued. It’s delicious.
Verdict: I’m so pleased with this month's VineBox! As usual, the wines were all delicious, and I really like that it included two Italian wines from the same producer. It was fun to taste them side by side. The cost of the box breaks down to $9.67 per glass, which I’m happy with. VineBox doesn’t send a ton of wine per shipment, but I think the quality of the wine they send is fantastic. I also like the single-serve vials— it’s a great way to enjoy a glass of great wine without opening an entire bottle!
