The Vegan Cuts Snack Box is a monthly subscription box from Vegan Cuts full of vegan and natural food products and snacks. Many of the items will be gluten free, but this box is not a dedicated gluten free box. Vegan Cuts also offers a Beauty Box and Makeup Box.
Once again I had a few helpers. Sneaky and Monkey, cats shouldn’t eat vegan food! (Really I think cats just like ALL boxes.)

The box came with this information card detailing the items in the box.
Keep Healthy Fruitkies Chocolate Covered Cherries (1.6 oz) – Value $1.99
I will like most things with chocolate and cherries. This was no exception. You could actually taste the cherries and the texture of the bar was good, too – not too crumbly but also not too sticky.
Emmy’s Organics Dark Cacao Organic Coconut Cookie (0.67 oz) – Value $0.83
I get macaroons in so many subscription boxes! It’s a good thing I love coconut. This was delicious and also had healthful plant fats, something I need more of (I tend towards a low-fat diet because it is easier for me to maintain).
Unreal Dark Chocolate Almond Butter Cup (0.5 oz) – Value $1.17
This tasted pretty good despite being smashed. Of course, nothing will ever replace Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups for me (I am vegetarian, not vegan) but if you are vegan or have a peanut allergy, this is a decent substitute.
Gorilly Goods Original Fruit and Nut (1.7 oz) – Value $2.49
This has bananas and raisins and a variety of nuts. I mostly taste the bananas. It is not quite granola (no grain) and more like a broken-up energy bar, I guess. Regardless, I like the banana/nut combination so it’s good with me! (I have had this before from somewhere. I like it but would welcome some of the other flavors as well.)
Neat Original Mix (5.5 oz) – Value $5.19
We received the egg replacement product from this brand a few months ago and it did work pretty well in quickbread. This box came literally one hour after I’d finished grocery shopping for the week, though, so we are going to try making veggie burgers with this next week. This is mostly pecan flour and chickpea flour, which is a combination I have not tried before.
Pretzel No No’s (1.63 oz) – Value $2.65
These are free of the 8 major allergens and you can kind of tell. The pretzel inside is pretty hard. They’re not bad, but not really something I would seek out, either (and the amount you get is pretty small for the cost). Also, the apostrophe in the product name bothers me because it shouldn’t be there.
Spiced and Infused Popcorn in Chipotle Taco Flavor (1.1 oz) – Value $1.29
This was great. We’ve gotten this before but in a different flavor. I like spicy food and the chipotle was not too smoky for me (not usually a fan of smoky flavors or anything umami in general). Having a bit of trouble finding this for sale at normal shops online so I’ve linked to a site for office managers and wholesale buyers and listed an MSRP I found there.
Popcorners in Carnival Kettle (1 oz) – Value $0.42
I have received these before in several different subscription boxes and I am just not a fan. The natural texture is kind of crunchy but also kind of like something crunchy has gone a little stale, and I really don’t care for the hint of sweetness. I would be interested in trying these in a savory flavor but for some reason, I keep getting this variety in boxes instead.
Vegan Rob’s Tumeric Chips (1.5 oz) – Value $1.75
Last time Vegan Cuts sent a Vegan Rob’s product, it was popcorn, so I’m pleased to have received a different item. These are not potato chips but rather a sort of grain/starch composite with much more yellow color from the turmeric than it appears from the package picture. My husband and I thought these were pretty good but we are both big fans of Indian food so that is no surprise (there was an Indian-style seasoning going on).
Ultima Replenisher Electrolyte Powder (sample pack) – Value $1?
I couldn’t find this flavor (plain) on the Ultima Replenisher site so I’ve given a value for one stick from the 50 count box. I mixed this in with my BCAA supplement that I put in my water during a workout. Not sure how much of a difference I noticed but I am sure I needed electrolytes last week because I had been sick, so maybe it helped a little? If this had any taste, the BCAA supplement covered it up, though.
Soylent (414 mL) – Value $2.69
I admit to having been curious about this after reading all those news stories about how it was making people sick. (For the record, this particular drink was not one of the items making people sick, just the plain powder and a bar.) It is designed to be a meal replacement with vitamins, minerals, and a balance of macronutrients.
But, it is honestly kind of revolting. My husband likened it to “vanilla-flavored glue.” It has the consistency of Pepto Bismol liquid. Needless to say, we are not Soylent converts.
Here is what the Soylent looks like.
Here is another picture of the Soylent. After taking pictures, I jostled the glass a little. Like 10 minutes later, that stuff was still stuck to the sides of the glass. It reminds me of a medication I used to have to give Nyx to coat her GI tract when she was having reflux issues.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $21.47 for this month’s Vegan Cuts Snack Box. That is about average for this box. I prefer this month to last month because there weren’t nearly as many repeat items for me (so there was more of a discovery aspect to this box). Even though the Soylent wasn’t a hit, I am excited about the Neat product and of course, all the chocolate, chips, and popcorn were appreciated.
