Frost Blood by Elly Blake – Retail Value $17.99 (On Amazon for $10.58)

Uppercase-Box-January-2017-0013

Book Summary from Amazon:

Seventeen-year-old Ruby is a Fireblood who has concealed her powers of heat and flame from the cruel Frostblood ruling class her entire life. But when her mother is killed trying to protect her, and rebel Frostbloods demand her help to overthrow their bloodthirsty king, she agrees to come out of hiding, desperate to have her revenge.
Despite her unpredictable abilities, Ruby trains with the rebels and the infuriating–yet irresistible–Arcus, who seems to think of her as nothing more than a weapon. But before they can take action, Ruby is captured and forced to compete in the king’s tournaments that pit Fireblood prisoners against Frostblood champions. Now she has only one chance to destroy the maniacal ruler who has taken everything from her–and from the icy young man she has come to love.
Vivid and compelling, Frostblood is the first in an exhilarating series about a world where flame and ice are mortal enemies…but together create a power that could change everything.
And every Uppercase box book is signed by the author:

I’m a little over 100 pages into the book, and I like the pacing so far. I think if you are new to YA Fantasy books, you’ll probably love this book. If you’ve read a lot in this genre, the book will definitely feel familiar.

And this book came with a promotional magnet, too.

This is such a unique accessory!

Bloomin Book Seed Paper – Value $.91

You know you’re a Biore addict, when your first thought is that this looks like Pore Strip! (I see the book now, though!)

This is the herb mix (parsley, basil & chive seeds).

Verdict: This box has a value of about $37. I’m happy with that number, plus there is additional value to the signed book! I’m almost always happy with this subscription. I think the curation is great, and it seems like my taste in YA books is similar to Lisa’s so that works out very well!

What do you think of this month’s Uppercase box?

  1. How does one sign up for this box? I tried clicking on the word uppercase, but it’s a blank page. Is there a website?
