This month, the items were in an envelope with tissue paper inside instead of the usual box. Not sure yet whether this is a permanent change or just for the month.

Yuni No-Rinse Body Cleansing Foam (50 mL) – Value $6.33
The directions on this say to towel off sweat and then pump this onto the skin and massage it in, in place of a shower or bath. This did vanish pretty quickly when I tried it out on an arm, and I think the essential oils made me smell a little better (and may have some antibacterial activity), but I just don’t think I could really go without taking a shower. You’re not really cleaning yourself with this if you are rubbing this product into your skin, you’re just covering up the sweat. I suppose it could get you through a day if you work out on your lunch hour, but I exercise at night, at home, so the shower is readily available. Still, even though it’s not something I would use regularly, I think it is totally appropriate as an inclusion in a box like this.
HumanN Beetelite (0.35 oz) – Value $3
All right, so products like this are where an information card would be useful for this box. I assumed this was some kind of superfood supplement so I put it in a smoothie (blended nicely and worked with the overall flavor). But apparently one packet stimulates nitric oxide production, which in turn stimulates the immune system, regulates blood pressure, reduces inflammation, increases endurance and strength, and, well, stimulating nitric oxide production is also how Viagra works. Anyway, I probably should’ve saved this for before a workout but I do feel like I had a lot of energy this morning.
NCLA Polish in “Mulholland Maneater” – Value $21
This is actually a really dark purple/eggplant sort of color. It’s the middle of the week so I didn’t have time to paint my nails but this is a definite summer toenail color for me and I already know I love the NCLA formula from receiving it in other subscription boxes. Also, in researching this item, I found out that NCLA has a Zodiac collection of polishes that I really want now. Watching their site for a sale…
Wodfitters Ultra Speed Cable Jump Rope – Value $14.99
The length of this is adjustable, which is great (just loosen the screws, adjust, and re-tighten) since I am only 5’5” and these things seem made for much taller people (plus it could be shared among people with different heights). This is one of the thin ropes for speed jumping. I have to use these outside as the ceiling in my exercise room is too low so I just gave it a brief whirl last night when the rain let up for a moment and this is a lot like the other speed ropes I have used. (The thin design and attachment of the handles allow the rope to turn faster than other ropes. There is a video at the link to the product if you’d like to see it in action.)
Verdict: I calculated a value of $45.32 for the February SweatyBox. That is about three times the cost of the box plus shipping, which is honestly quite a good value. I think the folks at SweatyBox are pretty creative about coming up with fitness accessories for a $10 subscription box ($14.95 if you count shipping) and I think they do a good job of keeping the mix of items consistent from month to month. (And for what it’s worth, if they are sending something like foundation or socks, they will contact you to get your shade/size.) At any rate, I was pretty happy with this month’s SweatyBox.
