Museum of Named Diamonds Gift Card - Value $100
It’s a gift certificate that covers the cost of registering a diamond into the Museum of Named Diamonds!
This concept is totally new to me, but it’s such a sweet idea. Here’s a description:
The Museum of Named Diamonds (MoND for short) is an online non-profit operated by experts in the diamond industry dedicated to telling each diamond’s life story. They give light to personal stories behind beloved, passed-down family diamonds as well as massive, globally recognized rocks like the Hope Diamond.
I have a non-traditional engagement ring that contains a yellow sapphire instead of a diamond, but my grandmother has an heirloom diamond ring and I think she’d love to share its story. I’ll happily pass this gift certificate along to her.
The next item is a bottle of Merlot from Napa’s Davis Estates!
2012 Davis Estates Merlot - Value $50
And this isn’t just any old bottle of wine— it’s amazingly delicious! The mouthfeel is lush and velvety, and it’s a little smoky with a solid dose of spice and rich flavors of black cherry, plum, and strawberry. It’s rare that I’m willing to drop $50 on wine, so this bottle feels like a special treat. It’s nice (and very romantic!) to be able to share such a great wine with someone special.
fix chocolates a tryst - Value $20
What’s more romantic than a bottle of red wine? Red wine and chocolate!
This sampler from fixx chocolates contains a selection of six different flavors, each one inspired by and named for one of the chocolatier’s family members.
They’re all tasty, but I’m particularly partial to this little guy:
Mike’s fixx is made with layers of almond nougat, morello cherries, and roasted almonds. So good!
Herb & Root Spiced Vanilla Glaze Massage Oil - Value $30
Herb & Root’s Spiced Vanilla Glaze Massage Oil is made with a combination of coconut oil and sweet almond oil, and it’s infused with cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg. Each bottle also contains a whole bourbon vanilla bean.
The aroma of this oil is intoxicating! It smells just like freshly ground spices and reminds me of freshly brewed chai tea. The combination of oils has a nice, slippery feel that seems like it will be perfect for massage. Robb Vices also points out that this oil is edible… so… yeah.
Love is Art Kit - Listed Value $79
The last item in this month’s box is a custom designed kit for Robb Vices from Love is Art. Here’s a description:
Each Love is Art kit includes all of the materials a couple needs to safely craft a large abstract painting while being intimate on canvas.
Here’s a shot of what’s included inside the cardboard kit:
The kit includes a large drop cloth, treated-cotton canvas, and two pairs of slippers.
The canvas is two-sided, and the display side is jet black. Robb Vices also included two paints (white and metallic gold) to use with the kit. The paints are specially formulated and non-toxic.
There’s also a mesh body scrubber included.
At first, I was surprised to see this kit included, as it’s a bit more risqué than the items I’ve seen in previous Robb Vices boxes. It’s well put together, though, and it definitely fits the theme of “sensual romance”!
Verdict: I was so curious to see what a Robb Vices Valentine’s Day box would look like, and I’m not disappointed. Robb Vices has a knack for curating boxes that almost always feel unique and surprising, and this box is no exception. I love that they reliably seek out items that I’ve never seen featured in a subscription box before! A couple of the items in this shipment are definitely a little on the spicy side, but the box still manages to feel luxe and high end to me. The retail value of the items in this month’s box comes to a total of $279. Even for someone like me who can’t use the gift card, the value is still pretty incredible!
