Ivory-Clasp-January-2017-Info-Card

This is a very simply packaged subscription box – the purse comes in a non-marked box, and there are very few accouterments! This note from the Ivory Clasp team was included.

Dolce Vita Collection Elise Tote – Value $228.00 (tag lists $198.00)

My purse this month is from Dolce Vita Collection and it is 100% leather with a polyester lining. The tag says that it is $198.00 but it is for sale on the Dolce Vita website and online for $228.00. Either way, this is the highest value purse I’ve received from Ivory Clasp and I think it’s my favorite print too! The back is pretty simple. There are few accouterments and the only noticeable difference from the front is the tassel attachment and the seam for the pocket.

This tote does not close at the top but does have a tassel that hangs over from the back to the front keeping it somewhat closed. The tassel is really cute and adds a nice bit of style to the bag, in my opinion!

Ivory-Clasp-January-2017-Inside-purse

Here’s the only pocket inside the purse. I really like the size of this pocket and the fact that it zips closed. Since the bag itself doesn’t zip shut – this pocket is perfect for keeping valuables.

Just a peek at the inside of the zippered pocket!

I styled the bag with my Vince Camuto pencil skirt, Aquatalia booties, a Banana Republic tee, and my Promod wool coatigan that I picked up in Paris this month! I very rarely have clothes that I wear specifically for day or night. Much of my wardrobe crosses over since when I go to business events I have to wear business formal wear, and when I go to church (at least 3 times a week), I dress up as well. I probably always am a bit overdressed, but I like it that way! This look took me from day-to-night this Saturday – breakfast with some friends, then a business meeting, and then out to dinner.

Having a bag this large was quite a benefit too – I could keep my necessities, along with water, and still had room for my Target run later in the day (we’ve moved to reusable bags in CA, and I always forget them – so when I have a big purse, it doubles as my shopping bag!).

Verdict: I really loved my bag this month! It is 100% leather, which makes it actually worth the price it’s valued at, appears to be really well made, is right up my alley for a fun tote bag, and it works great to take to a farmer’s market or shopping as well. The little zippered pocket is what makes this tote great – I can keep all of my valuables zipped away, and still feel free to drop things in without unzipping the top! I love it.

Have you tried Ivory Clasp yet?

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane…the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane…but she’s always looking for a new subscription to try!

  1. I contacted them when I received a bag not to my liking. I was sent a return label and asked to retake the style survey. They also suggested I send them pictures or links to bags I liked so matching could go better. I did and just received the most perfect bag in return.

  2. Bekki, you look the epitome of understated elegance from head to toe. That bag is the perfect “pop” on black.

  3. I signed up back in November for a bi-monthly sub. I specifically requested no bags with brown as the accent color. My bag arrived on 12/10 and what did I receive? A black bag with brown accents! It also had fringe all over that was longer than the bag itself and was just not my style.

I contacted them and they sent me a prepaid return label, which I was happy about since their site says return shipping must be paid for by the buyer. I sent it back right away and they received it on 12/16. On 12/18, I emailed them to let them know I returned the bag and asked when the replacement would ship. They replied they would start the restyling process as soon as it was received. They emailed again on 1/3 saying that they had received my bag and were restyling another.

On 1/19, I inquired again since I hadn’t heard anything, and they said it had gone out on 1/16 and sent me the tracking number. I followed the tracking……all the way to NC, and I live in CT! I contacted them again and they had no explanation. They are sending yet another replacement, but as it is now February, that bag will have to be really awesome for me to keep this sub. I have already had to skip my first bi-monthly renewal.

    • This is what upsets me about these reviews. They obviously know this person is doing a review. This service is horrible. They are ALWAYS late and they send bags that have no name brands, have all kinds of flaws, and they smell JUST like knock of bags from overseas. It’s horrible.

  4. I tried it this month. I said I didn’t want a hobo or vegan bag, and that imwanted an outside pocket and lots of inside pockets. I got a hobo, vegan bag with no outside pockets and no inside pockets, just an included makeup type bag. The colors were pretty, pink and cream, but so not what I wanted.

    • It doesn’t seem like they take your profile responses into consideration at all.

  5. I love your outfit, Bekki! It’s my first time seeing the word coatigan. Love it.

  6. The bag is so cute.. but ur coat is soooo fabulous Bekki!!!! Love!

  7. Dolce Vita has a 60% off sale, for anyone who might want this. Or another of their bags! Not as good of a discount as IC, but you can pick your own…

  8. I like it! This is possibly the only bag I’ve seen from Ivory Clasp that I like, but I’m pretty picky about bags. I live a tolerable drive away from a Kate Spade outlet store, and I went during a non-Black Friday holiday sale one time (Veteran’s Day maybe?) and managed to buy two large handbags, a clutch, a full-size wallet, and a makeup bag for $400 after tax! It was amazing and I love these bags. I like this one and the design too because I much prefer real leather and very structured bags (on the opposite end, I don’t like most hobo/bucket bags).

    • Also my favorite ! Keep it up Ivory clasp!

  9. That is a very nice bag. I’m actually surprised it’s leather everything is always fake leather, nice but fake. I’m going to give it whirl again this month, hopefully I get a backpack style purse. I can’t do these handbags anymore.

    • I tried a month in December and got a bag totally unlike anything I checked in their style survey. I sent it back with their 100% satisfaction guarantee and it took another month to get a bag I paid for bag in November. The 2nd bag, still not my style and a giant tore bag, but was also a Dolce Vita collection and retails for $248. But it’s gigantic for me. I have it listed if anyone wants to swap for it!
