If you aren’t familiar with Golden Tote, here’s a really quick intro: Every month you get to pick out 1-2 pieces, and they surprise you with the rest. (The surprise items are completely different from the pieces you pick from). For the $149 tote, you pick 2 items, and get 3-4 more surprise items based on your style profile.
FYI – This is not a typical subscription, each month they release a new collection and you can decide whether or not you want to buy it.
Every month they design a new tote, too!

Golden Tote has recently made updates to their return policy – now you can easily go into your order history and return individual items (it used to be an all-or-nothing deal). This month they’re also promoting their Facebook buy/sell/trade group, which is a great group for finding items you missed (whether or not you bought a tote), selling items that don’t work for you, and seeing a lot of reveals of the totes others get.
Personally, I think the Facebook group is a great idea and really helps reduce the amount of risk involved in getting surprise items/clothing online. You can also swap for any subscription box goodies on our swap site, too!
Puella Raglan Top – Value $40
This top is awesome! I love the print and the color/tiny stripes of the sleeve fabric. The sleeves are a stretchy knit and the graphic print is a flowy, silky material that feels great and is flattering. I love the colors, print, design, and basically everything about this shirt.
The top’s hem is lower in the back, and the material in the back is the same knit as the sleeves on top, and then the bottom half is the graphic fabric.
Knit Factor Blazer – Value $50
This blazer was one of my chosen items (aka one of the two items I picked from their February collection to be in my tote). I have wanted a knit blazer for a while now. This one has a nice long length for me!
I don’t need a blazer often, but with a blazer like this, I feel more comfortable just working it into my wardrobe more. I may have been able to size down in this because it runs a little oversized but I think that still works!
Fun2Fun Floral Blouse – Value $40
I love Fun2Fun blouses! They were a big part of my wardrobe last summer. They’re just easy-to-wear and flattering and great prints and colors.
Here’s a closer look at this tiny floral print.
Gilli Floral Midi Dress – Value $40
This may be one of my favorite dresses I’ve ever received from Golden Tote (although, I’ve received so many amazing dresses). The design is so classy and flattering, and the midi length is perfect on me. I also like the floral print that looks hand-drawn. This dress is so comfortable and easy; I can tell it’s going to get a lot of wear this summer.
Puella Pleated Dress – Value $78
This dress was my second chosen item, and I really love it! Of course I do, because it’s Puella, but I think the design is super cute, too. The fabric feels like a jersey-esque knit and is so soft and stretchy!
I think the way they did the paneling with the stripes is so stylish. They also made this in a gray and olive colorway and I wish I had also bought the olive. The waist is a little big on me, but I wouldn’t want the arms/shoulders any tighter so I’ll have to just cinch the waist in – should be an easy fix.
Beaded Choker – Value $12
I don’t usually add anything onto my tote purchases but I loved the look of this beaded choker for Spring! It’s pale pink with some gold marbled in – I think it’ll be really pretty with so many looks.
Verdict: February was a really great Golden Tote for me! My chosen items (the blazer and Puella dress) fit great and are perfect and my stylist picked amazing surprises for me! I got some great items from my favorite brands. As far as value goes, I got $248 worth of boutique clothing for the $149 price I paid – I’m happy with that.
