Mixaroma Aromatherapy Massage and Skincare Oil

This month included a bonus item! This little bottle of oil is perfect for winter. The ingredients include a few different oils like jojoba, safflower, avocado, and rose bulgaria. The combination of these creates a really nice scent that is mostly earthy.

Mexican Hot Chocolate - Black Tea

I was so excited to see this in the box! I loved the previous chai teas that have been sent so I went with the traditional brew on this one. I used non-dairy milk to brew this and after following the traditional preparation instructions, I was left with a pretty perfect Mexican hot chocolate. The creaminess and spices create a nice base and then the chili flakes really kick in! Mexican hot chocolate is one of those drinks that I love to order and now I can’t believe I’ve never tried to make it at home. The spice is definitely strong and will clear out your sinuses! This blend is also a 3 out of 3 on the caffeine scale so it really will wake you up. If you stay away from dairy too, I suggest any nut milk for this. It really added to chocolate and spices nicely.

Organic Darjeeling Dream - Premium Black Tea

This blend lists first and second flush Darjeeling tips as the ingredients. This refers to when the tea is harvested. First flush is mid-March and has a light color. Second flush is harvested in June and is more amber and full bodied. The mix of these two blends is perfect. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to add anything to this brew. The flavor is incredibly smooth with the right amount of dryness. It kind of reminds me of a dry wine. This is a 3 out of 3 on the caffeine scale and one of my favorite teas from this box.

Currants and Cacao - Black Tea

This black tea is a 3 out of 3 on the caffeine scale and is a nice mix of fruit and chocolate flavors. It also includes some cream, vanilla, and white chocolate. The currants are a nice juxtaposition against the creaminess of the tea. This was one of the more interesting blends for me because it has a flavor depth of a darker tea while still feeling really light. I’m happy to have a larger pouch of this and I think I’ll definitely get through it quickly!

Cherry Rosebush - Green Tea

The scent of this blend, while it’s dry, is very herbal (as green teas usually are!) but with a very strong sweetness from the rose and cherry fragrances. This is a 2 out of 3 on the caffeine scale and only takes 3 minutes to steep! It also has a lowering temperature requirement at 195° - most teas are around 200° - 205°. I ended up trying this hot and cold. This is one of those iced teas that calls for you to let it steep for 6-8 hours! It’s definitely worth the wait because it’s so refreshing! I tasted the green tea and rose petals the most but the cherry essence provided a little sweetness with a lot of fragrance. I really liked the hot version of this as a breakfast drink and I think the iced version is really invigorating. It would be a great refreshment on a hot summer day.

Belgian Kiss - Rooibos Tea

Belgian Kiss is a beautiful golden blend that smells like chocolate and honey. This mixes really well with the earthiness of the rooibos tea. This tea is caffeine free and takes 5 minutes to steep. I really enjoyed the flavor of the rooibos and cacao against the sweeter calendula petals. I tasted the rooibos and cacao the most and added a little bit of sweetener to soften the flavor. I like the strong flavor of this tea and it’s nice that, while it has that strong flavor, it has no caffeine so I can enjoy it any time of day. This tea definitely feels indulgent!

Toasted Treat - Green Tea

This green tea is super straightforward. This contains green tea, roasted rice, and popped rice. The dry blend smells really fresh and the rice looks really interesting. The weird thing about this blend is that it’s uncomplicated but a combination I would have never put together for tea! The brewed tea smells like toasted rice puffs. This also tasted exactly like the ingredients, a nice green tea with a rice flavor over it. I really liked this combination a lot! This tea scores a 2 out of 3 on the caffeine scale and has a 3 minute brew time. I really liked the strength of the green tea and the rice added an interesting layer. I really loved this as a sturdy breakfast tea, the rice flavor made it feel more filling that a regular green tea.

Champagne Toast - Fruit Tea

This caffeine free fruit tea smells so sweet! You can smell the apple pieces but the papaya, strawberry, and rose petals take this to a dessert level sweetness. The fragrance coming from my cup while this was steeping was insane! The taste was really interesting because you got the fruit flavors and then the underlying wine essence. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about a hot wine essence but I really liked it! This felt like a sweet treat and I imagine that this would be really awesome as an iced tea…maybe with some actual sparkling wine added! I don’t think I’ve ever had a tea like this before and I love the idea of a celebratory champagne drink that’s also so cozy!

Caramel Creme - Black Tea

When I first opened this pouch, I had a flashback to the Chocolate Cashew blend from December’s box. This is definitely not a complaint because I loved that tea and it makes sense, as both include chocolate, nut, and caramel flavors. This tea included a note that “due to its fermented nature, this tea must be prepared with boiling water”. I rarely prepare tea without boiling water but it seems worth mentioning anyway! The smell of this tea is exactly what you would expect - rich chocolate with an awesome nuttiness and sweetness. The steeping instructions suggest at least 4 minutes but up to 7. I found that this did steep quickly and I ended up letting it go for about 5 minutes. I don’t add sweetener or creamer to these blends very often but, when I do, it tends to be the stronger black teas. On its own, it was on the slightly bitter end of the spectrum so I did end up adding a tiny bit of coconut creamer to this, which sent it into dessert territory. I really enjoy blends like this because they make a great evening drink or an awesome breakfast treat!

Mindful Magic - Wellness Tea

This tea is a 0 out of 3 on the caffeine scale and full of awesome ingredients. The mix of fruit, flowers, and herbs smell delicious. I love the mixes that include beautiful ingredients and I had a whole tiny flower in my brew! I made this hot but, as with most wellness teas, I think the herbal flavor would be awesome as an iced tea. The flavor was very mild and the fragrance of the tea was the bigger attraction for me. I ended up brewing it a little longer than the 6-minute suggestion because the taste was so light. But it was a nice herbal tea and, as a perpetually sniffly person, I always love anything that includes stinging nettle!

High Noon - Black Tea

This is a blend of black and green tea leaves. One of the things I love about the tea blends in this box is how beautiful they can be! I loved the cornflower petals mixed into this tea. This was one of the black tea blends that was perfect for me in terms of sweetness. I didn’t add anything to this and I think that’s because the green tea and petals softened the black tea flavor. This was a 3 out of 3 on the caffeine scale which could be problematic for me because I downed it quickly and just wanted more!

Verdict: This month’s box included some really awesome dessert flavors. I always enjoy anything that includes chocolate or caramel but the champagne tea was a new experience for me! I love that, while this box included those treats, it also had a bunch of delicious everyday teas. Field to Cup always does a great job balancing that for me and they always have interesting flavor combinations I haven't tried before. As always, it's estimated that you could brew 40+ cups of tea from this box and that covers the cost of the box for me! I think the biggest hits for me this month were the Organic Darjeeling Dream, Mexican Hot Chocolate, and Champagne Toast. I also really loved the Toasted Treat because I've never had anything like that! And the bonus item was such a nice touch.

Thank you for the great review! I subscribed because you made the teas sound wonderful…and there was a great coupon. 🙂

I drink 2-3 kinds of tea everyday, so I’m excited to try some totally different teas that I don’t see in the stores, I wouldn’t normally buy, and wouldn’t put together myself.

This was my second month and I’m addicted! My friend subscribed to this box a couple months before me and after being jealous for about a month I had to subscribe myself. I love getting so many options every month and so far I’ve used the 40% off subscriber perk like 3 times. I haven’t bought any tea at the store since I started this sub and with free tea replacement I don’t see myself ever going back! Thanks MSA for the amazing coupon!!!

Wow, some really nice, high quality teas there. That’s a lot of tea per month, though. I wonder if they do subs for alternate months.
