Bulu Box is a monthly fitness and weight loss subscription. The original Bulu Box is focused more on fitness and general health supplements, and they also offer a Weight Loss box that focuses more on diet products.

They have done away with the traditional information card and instead included this card with some discounts and promos on it. You also get some product literature and/or coupons most months.

bulu-box-weight-loss-february-2017-chocolate

Lavle Belgian Dark Chocolate (2 pieces) – Total Value $1.98

I got this last month as well, in the regular Bulu Box. Anyway, dark chocolate has flavanols, compounds that are supposed to be good for health. This is decent dark chocolate, not the best I’ve ever had, but I do like the individual portions – it’s easier to control how much you consume.

Dr. Price’s Electrolyte Mix Super Hydration Formula in Lemon Lime (0.09 oz) – Value $0.53

I’ve been sick lately and feeling a bit dehydrated and I really do think this helped. It only has five calories (yay) and isn’t full of sugar. (But it has lots of minerals.)

bulu-box-weight-loss-february-2017-cleanse

Shapeologist 15 Day Cleanse (2 capsules) – Value $1

I don’t believe in doing “cleanses” – the science is just not there to support them. This has psyllium fiber (which is fine to take every day) and flax (good source of essential fatty acids). And senna plus Cascara sagrada – two LAXATIVES. So please, just do your research before taking anything like this. I don’t think it is good to take laxatives for 15 days.

Smarty Pants Adult Complete (2 gummies) – Value $0.37

All right, MORE Smarty Pants. I can’t even eat these because they have both fish oil and gelatin. My husband likes them well enough. I find it hard to believe there is anyone who hasn’t tried these at this point.

bulu-box-weight-loss-february-2017-iron

Simply Popped from Jolly Time (3 oz) – Value $2.49

Microwave popcorn can be great for weight loss – it’s quite filling and it’s a whole grain, and one whole bag here is under 100 calories. This has non-GMO corn and a simple ingredients list, too. I am actually in the process of evaluating all the 100 calorie bags of popcorn I can find to see which one is my favorite (good mid-morning snack at work) and this one is worth a second look. I think I like it better than this other Jolly Time popcorn I tried.

Bioferrin Iron Crystal Bursts (1 packet) – Value $0.50?

This isn’t available for sale yet, as far as I can tell. It looks like the maker is just doing market testing. These have a fruity flavor and are kind of like eating pop rocks. I suppose if you are looking for an iron supplement (what these are), it is helpful to have a lot of different products to try.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $6.87 for the February Bulu Box Weight Loss box. That is above the price I paid for the box since I got in on one of the “$5 for life” deals. Plus, you can review items in the box for points that can be used on items in the Bulu Box Shop. If the shop contains stuff you’d already buy (for me, it’s Quest Bars and PB2), then the box pretty much pays for itself. Make sure to use coupon code MYSUB16 to get a 3-month Bulu Box subscription for $16 (regularly $30 for a 3-month subscription) to bring the price down. Also, every now and then, you luck out and randomly get a full bottle of something. So, while this wasn’t the most exciting box for me, the popcorn is a good discovery at least.

For what it’s worth, I’d recommend only choosing the regular or weight loss version of Bulu Box and not subscribing to both. There are usually at least a couple of repeats between the two each month.

My last couple boxes have been amazing! I had a couple boxes I didn’t like, but these last two have been awesome. I was just thinking about cancelling one, since I’m signed up for both boxes they offer. But I’m super glad I didn’t. Love it!!

I was second-guessing letting my sub run out based on the regular Bulu box review, but seeing this now, I’m glad I did. This was pretty much how my last several boxes looked and it wasn’t even worth the $5 I was paying for it.

I got a really good box this month, two full size items (a bottle of garcinia cambogia and a bottle of probiotics). Was pleasantly surprised since my boxes have been so-so to date.

Wow, I feel bad that my box had 2 full size items. I didn’t get the popcorn or chocolate though. I did buy some of the chocolate with my points and got one free with the coupon which was cool.

They should at least send the full serving size of the smarty pants. A serving is 6(!) gummies and they only send two.

Ragan

Smarty Pants never sends a full serving size. Not in all the dozens of times I’ve received them in boxes.

They actually did in the Amazon box I sampled! I was shocked because I’ve been with bulu for years and agree with Regan! My brother was excited (I’m a veggie too)

Same sad box twins! This sub is truly hit or miss. The hits make up for the misses since it is so cheap! I subbed at a low rate and it renews at that rate. I am guessing that if you sub at MYSUB16, you might be able to get it to continue to renew at that rate, making it around $5.33.
