Bulu Box is a monthly fitness and weight loss subscription. The original Bulu Box is focused more on fitness and general health supplements, and they also offer a Weight Loss box that focuses more on diet products.

I had a different “helper” for this box…

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This review is of the Original Bulu, $10 a month, box.

Bulu Box seems to have stopped providing information cards listing the items in the box. Instead, you get a generic card with coupons on the back.

bulu-box-february-2017-electrolyte

Daily Vitamins Burst + Antioxidant Blend in Orange Lime (2 fl oz) – Value $1.50

If you don’t like swallowing vitamin tablets, this could be useful, since it is a liquid vitamin shot. I opted not to try it because it looked like it had come open a little and leaked (see the staining on the package). These are calorie-free and do have a nice mix of vitamins and minerals.

Dr. Price’s Electrolyte Mix Super Hydration Formula in Blueberry Pomegranate (0.09 oz) – Value $0.53

This tasted pretty good. I have had a really bad cold lately and was feeling dehydrated but I don’t like Gatorade and stuff like that (too much sugar and artificial colors, etc.), so it is nice to have an alternative. I think it helped, too, and it doesn’t have artificial dyes.

bulu-box-february-2017-iron

Bioferrin Crystal Bursts (1 packet) – Value $0.50?

This is an iron supplement. It has a fruity flavor and is kind of like eating Pop Rocks. It’s a nice thing to try if you need to supplement iron and are looking at different ways to do so.

It seems the maker of this is just seeking feedback at this point since you don’t seem to be able to actually buy this online. I only found press releases.

Molly’s Suds Laundry Powder (1.7 oz) – Value $0.48

I have tried this product before. “Suds” is a bit misleading – this contains no soap or detergent, whatsoever. It is basically a few salts (including baking soda) and essential oils. So I would not use it for any laundry that is really dirty or has oil-based stains. (I have very sensitive skin when it comes to laundry soaps so the essential oils make this off-limits for me.)

bulu-box-february-2017-joint

Dr. Pergolizzi Oxy Joint (42 capsules) – Value $16.33

I am at the point in my life where a joint supplement would be welcome. Unfortunately, this is not vegetarian (but I know a few people who would be interested so I will pass it on to one of them). This has maca powder, L-leucine (an amino acid), cat’s claw extract, and Boswellia serrata extract. I have seen some of these ingredients in other joint supplements but I do encourage you to do some research before taking any herbs to make sure they don’t interact with any medications you may be on.

bulu-box-february-2017-probiotic

Hyperbiotics Pro-Women (30 tablets) – Value $28

Do you want to hear something funny? This is the probiotic I normally take after discovering it in a subscription box. I ran out just a few days ago and hadn’t gotten around to buying more. Now I don’t have to! In all seriousness, I find this to be pretty good. It is vegetarian and it also has D-mannose, which is good if you have urinary tract issues. (D-mannose is a sugar from cranberry. You excrete about 90% of what you take in through the kidneys without digestion. It forms aggregates with bacteria that may be present and they pass out of your system harmlessly.)

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $47.34 for the February Bulu Box. The box is worth it for me because of the probiotic and everything else was just a bonus, as I see it. Some months this box does have low value but then one month will make up for it all by having a value that is getting close to 10 times what I paid for the box (I got one of the $5 for life deals a few months back). Also, don’t forget to review your samples for points that can be used in the Bulu Box shop (they have Quest Bars and PB2, which are items I’d buy anyway).

Great value for a $5 box. I also got a huge thing of NUD hair, nails beauty vitamins instead of the laundry powder/liquid vitamins you received. My box would hardly close. lol I’m happy with bulu unlike the other subscriber and like you, I use the probiotics and I’m happy with another full bottle. 😉

My box was awesome I get the diet box not the regular box I receive the probiotics plus an entire bottle of 60 Garcinia pills! My box also had eight samples I love my bulu boxes so much one month I got a whole bottle of CBD oil from the Stanley Brothers! I also live in an extremely rural area with not many stores around which may be why I get different boxes

Oh I swapped for the cbd oil it works great for headaches, pms, joint pain etc.. I even give it to my senior dog and he is doing so much better. Those bottles I’ve bought at my local hemp shop for up to $50. I wish I had gotten it in one of my boxes but I also get the weight loss box and it was awesome too. I received a bunch of little samples, a bottle of nud weight loss vitamins 90 pills and the garcina pills! I usually get lucky with bulu (knock on wood) 😉

Heathery

This was the second month in a row that I got the probiotics. I think I’ve finally come to the realization that I am not the target audience for this box. It only took me a year lol. I made an order with my points, and I’m going to cancel my subscription once the order comes in. A freed up $5 for Target boxes!

Are there variations of these boxes? Mine was nothing like this! Just a couple sample packets of gummies and a travel jar of skin balm. The only same item we had was the iron crystals.

Ragan

I think there are a lot of variations. And also the weight loss box (review should be coming soon) and the regular box are different. My weight loss box just had some small samples this month and a packet of microwave popcorn. And also the iron crystals.

I think it is kind of random. Last month I got the relabeled hemorrhoid cream. Some months the total value is $5. But then every now and then, you get a larger item that kind of makes up for the other months.
