BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review – February 2017
BoxyCharm is a full-size beauty and makeup subscription box. They always provide a great value compared the cost of the box.
This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
The Subscription Box: BoxyCharm
The Cost: $21 a month
The Products: 5-6 beauty items that will include nail care, skin care, makeup, haircare, fragrance and more. (At least 4 of those items will be full-sized).
Ships to: US and Canada
Each box comes with a card detailing the items included.
Now, time for the items!
Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Age Defying Exfoliator – FULL SIZE! Value $79
Boxycharm sends out box variations each month, but all subscribers get this awesome item! It’s a highly-rated cult favorite beauty product, and this may be the first time I’ve seen the full-size version in a subscription box!
If you aren’t familiar with this exfoliator, it is an ultra-fine scrub you can use 1-2 times a week. I love the minty fresh scent, and how smooth it makes my skin feel. (I’ve seen a lot of reviewers mention it helped them with whiteheads/acne, etc.)
(Good to know for swaps: this item has an inner foil seal.)
Royal & Langnickel OMNIA Eye Kit Brush Duo – Value $30
(UPDATE: This item won’t be in all boxes, but all subscribers will receive some variation of makeup brushes.)
These brushes are gorgeous! I love the two tones of metal.
The Rose Gold brush is a detail brush, made for getting detailed lines around the eyes, and the Gold Brush is a shader brush, made for sweeping eyeshadow on the eyelid and blending.
Juice Beauty Reflecting Gloss in Fig – Value $15
I was pleasantly surprised to see this lip gloss in the box! (I could be wrong, but I don’t think Boxycharm has featured Juice Beauty before.)
This is one of my favorite natural/organic beauty brands, and I love their lipgloss. It adds a little shimmer, shine, and color. The best part? NO stickiness!
(Swatched in lower photo.)
2 Makeup Geeks Shadows – Value $6 Each
All subscribers will receive two shadows (colors will vary).
Here is a closer look at the shadows:
Makeup Geeks Shadow in Bitten – Value $6
This is a maroon matte with lots of pigment.
Makeup Geeks Shadow in Glamourous – Value $6
This shade is a shimmery gold/bronze.
Here are both shades swatched beneath the lip gloss:
The lipgloss gives a sheer wash of color, and the two eyeshadows have excellent pigment!
Z-Palette – Value $14
(This will be in all boxes.)
I love that Boxycharm included z-palette! They often include pan-only makeup items, so this is a perfect addition for subscribers.
And it includes metal stickers to apply to pans you want to add. Here is with the two Makeup Geek shadows:
It will hold up to 9 standard sized pans!
Verdict: This box has a value of about $150! As always, the value for Boxycharm is amazing! This is one of my favorite Boxycharm boxes yet! I love all the brands included, and I’m always happy to get gorgeous makeup brushes and a z-palette in a box!
