Blockhead Box is a new subscription box from Fight4Them, which is an organization of dog lovers and combat athletes working to prevent dog fighting and animal cruelty. Expect chews, toys, and treats for your dog as well as clothing and other gear for dog owners. And feel good knowing that a portion of all proceeds to charities, rescues, and humane law enforcement! Toys and chews are designed especially for bully breeds and heavy chewers.

My dog, Nyx, is a Rottweiler, so according to some lists (and insurance companies), she is a bully breed.  When I lived in my condo, her best friends were bully breeds. And there have been lots of bully breeds in my family in the past including boxers, English bulldogs, and a Bull Mastiff, so this box was definitely of interest to me both in terms of products and the causes it supports.

T-Shirt – Value $24.99?

This particular design wasn’t in the Fight4Them shop, so I’ve assigned it the value of the other short-sleeved t-shirts they offer. It’s a wonderful sentiment and definitely in line with the Fight4Them message although it would make me feel a little hypocritical to wear since I got Nyx from a breeder. (All my cats are rescues, though.) Still, it fits and it seems to be nice material and I can at least wear it around the house.

Spunky Pup Alien Flex Hammer (L) – Value $9.99?

Interactive Dog Toys Super Tough Hydrant (L) – Value $11.99?

Both of these are toys you can put food or treats into to maintain your dog’s interest. Nyx has a pretty limited diet due to her IBD but it didn’t matter, she thought both of these were pretty awesome on their own. I’ve seen the fire hydrant moving around the living room so she is chewing on it when I am not around. Both seem quite durable, as well. (I have received the hammer toy before, in Bullymake Box; when I searched for it, my review kept coming up…But I still can’t find it for sale online. I can’t find this exact hydrant online but a Spunky Pup one that is very similar is coming up, so I have listed the value for that one.)

blockhead-box-february-2017-treats

Gogo Pet Products All Natural Beef Toothpick (0.89 oz) – Value $7.99

This is a tail, for reference. The manufacturer is a little dodgy on the source but says it is either North or South America, both of which would be fine to give to a dog. In general, Blockhead Box does tend to provide tough chews and treats that may be most suitable for heavy chewers or destructive dogs.  (Do supervise your dog with any chew, though, of course!)

Pawsitively Gourmet Doggie Pastry – Value $3?

This was cute. Since the first ingredient is wheat, Nyx can’t have it due to her IBD. I will pass it along to a coworker’s dog to enjoy. This is a wholesale supplier so the value is an estimate.  Pawsitively Gourmet is located in Colorado and uses ingredients grown and manufactured in the U.S.

Here are some shots of Nyx enjoying the toys.

Verdict: I calculated an estimated value of almost $58 for the February Blockhead Box. That is quite good. I like how the doggie items were suitable for heavy chewers and otherwise destructive dogs. Due to Nyx’s dietary issues, I was pleased that the majority of the value this month was for non-food items, but I also realize that might not always be the case.

Angus reminds me of my Bam Bam who is so stinkin nosey. He has to be in every box I get and smell it all.

I think Angus likes any box. Nyx is a darling but I love seeing Angus peeking in the box also.
