Vegan Cuts Beauty Subscription Box Review – January 2017

vegan-cuts-beauty-january-2017-box

The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. All of their products are vegan (and they tend to be natural, too). They also typically include a nice mix of full size and sample beauty items. Vegan Cuts also offers a monthly Snack Box and quarterly Makeup Box.

Vegan Cuts sends a single package to subscribers who get both the beauty and snack boxes. The beauty items are separated into a little bag. (If you do not get the snack box, I don’t think you get the little bag.)

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This review is of the Vegan Cuts Beauty, $22.95 a month, box.

vegan-cuts-beauty-january-2017-briogeo

Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-in Conditioning Spray (1.75 oz) – Value $7

At long last, a different product from Briogeo! This was a very good detangler for my damp hair and it left my hair soft the next day (I always air dry).  It did not do much for frizz on day 1 but with the weather around here, I doubt anything would have.  On day 2, in combination with this hair mask from Klorane, I had wonderful results.

Stinkbug Naturals Tangerine Spice Aluminum Free Deodorant Cream (0.25 oz) – Value $0.95

This smells very nice but, unfortunately, it contains baking soda, which gives me a terrible rash in the underarm area. I will pass it on to someone who will be better able to appreciate it. (If you were wondering, the full sizes of these come in stick form.)

Enfusia Muscle Bomb (2 oz) – Value $2

This is half the size of the mini muscle bombs. I am a little disappointed at receiving such a small sample of an inexpensive item. It did smell nice, but I’m not sure I got the full muscle restorative effects when it was basically half strength in my bath. (This has the usual Epsom salts as well as peppermint, spearmint, and eucalyptus, all of which do generally help clear the sinus and help with muscle pain, plus tea tree oil and kaolin, so over time, use of these should help the condition of body skin as well.)

Clarisea Deep Pore Detox Activated Charcoal Exfoliating Mask (1 oz) – Value $7

I love ClariSEA products! This one is new to me. It is one of those powder masks you mix with water. I am not very good at getting the water-to-powder ratio right, though I did OK with this one. It contains kaolin and activated charcoal and I think it definitely cleaned out the pores on my nose. It is also supposed to exfoliate with salt crystals but of course that is difficult to judge with the naked eye.

Goddess Garden Organics Bright Eyes Firming Eye Cream (0.5 fl oz) – Value $17.99

I don’t get dark circles but I do get puffiness and have a few fine lines, and this seemed to help with those (plus it was gentle and non-greasy). There is enough here to use for a long time, which is great, because if an eye cream is going to irritate my skin, it usually takes 3-4 weeks for that to be apparent.  But I have had good luck with Goddess Garden products in the past.

Jersey Shore Cosmetics Baccara Rose Lip and Cheek Rouge – Value $30

This is definitely a lip color for me. (I love bold lip colors but need to use very light cheek colors due to my skin tone.) I only wore it for a short time, but it seemed non-drying and not sticky or anything – I like the formula! (This is a bit more expensive than I would have expected but as far as I can tell, I did receive a full-sized product.)

Here is a swatch of the lip and cheek rouge.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $64.94 for this month’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box. That is a great value and I liked that the box contents consisted of some known brands but also some brands that were new to me. I do sort of wish the values were more evenly distributed among the products; if the high-ticket item doesn’t work for you, the value of the box is much less. But this is something that happens with Vegan Cuts Beauty Box from time to time (and to be fair, I could use everything but the deodorant this month).

What do you think of the January 2017 Vegan Cuts Beauty Box?

Hey, if anybody got the jersey shore lip/cheek rouge in baccara rose and would like to trade for the lighter shade “red hibiscus” I would love to hear from you. I have listed the hibiscus one on the mysubscriptionaddiction swaps site here.
