Sweet Surprises is a monthly subscription box by Bakery Charms, a Hawaii-based jewelry store that offers realistically cute dessert jewelry and accessories. Every month they send you a Bakery Charms piece along with 2-3 extras, including an edible treat, related to the theme and a coupon code.

Each jewelry piece is handmade out of polymer clay and other materials by self-taught polymer clay artist, Jenn K. Lee. The Bakery Charms piece may be an exclusive subscribers-only necklace, an early release of a magnet/keychain, or a variation of a current bestselling ring, and it will be worth more than the cost of the subscription. The small extras are included to support the featured piece and increase the box’s fun and cute factors.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Exclusive Bakery Charms Christmas Gingerbread Cupcake Necklace – Value $22?

This month’s necklace features a chocolate cupcake with a red liner and topped with Christmas colored sprinkles and a gingerbread man cookie. The craftsmanship is fantastic as usual.

Bakery Charms sells their necklaces with silver plated chains or sterling silver for an additional cost. I assume this necklace comes with regular silver plated chains.

This is an exclusive necklace for the subscription, but I found a cupcake in a similar style here.

I’m always awe-struck by how adorably detailed and realistic each necklace is. The gingerbread man is way too cute!

Personalized Initial Charm on Swivel Clip

This is a small charm with an engraved personalized initial. The charm is about the size of a button or a fingernail– very dainty! It is a fun addition to my keychain without taking up much space.

Red Felt Christmas Stocking

This is a Christmas stocking about the size of my hand. I will be using it for my pet gerbil, I think he’ll appreciate the extra decorations around his gerbil tank.

Scented Holiday Pen

This is a ball-point pen with the word “gingerbread” on the clip. It smells like peppermint mixed with Sour Punch Straw candy.

Christmas After-Dinner Mints

These are soft peppermint candies– my favorite type of mints! They taste like what you expect: sweet and soft and slightly minty.

Holiday Foam Stickers

These are soft foam stickers that match the Christmas holiday spirit. I think it’s very funny how the elf, reindeer, and gingerbread cookie are all wearing the same smiley face!

Verdict: This is my favorite Sweet Surprises box yet! The cupcake is fantastic. The necklace is worth at least $22, so the rest is really just gravy. As always, Bakery Charms jewelry are realistic, unique, and extremely well crafted. This subscription would be perfect for someone who’s looking for unique, cute wearables.

  1. Gerbils are so cute! We decorated our fish aquarium for Christmas, too. I agree with you, I think our pets appreciate our decorating efforts. 🙂

P.S. I love the shirt you are wearing!

  2. So cute! I think a pre-teen girl would love this box!
