Geri G Canvas Brush – Value $18

Geri G. is a common brand for SweatyBox and so far, I have liked all the items from them we’ve received, so I’m happy to get another. You can see the scale of this from my hand in the photo. It is designed to apply multiple different types of product (foundation, concealer, bronzer/contour, blush, and eyeshadow) but I am noticing it is a good size for getting into some of my split pans from So Choix so I have dedicated it to my blush.

sweatybox-december-2016-pjur

Pjur Motive 2Skin Anti-Chafing Gel (2 mL x 2) – Value $1.47

This is a gel that stays at the upper layer of the skin (rather than absorbing in) and prevents blisters and chafing. It is also water and sweat resistant. Please note that it is a European product and may not be economical to ship to the U.S. (These are not just sample packs – there is a “to go” version of this product in foils like this for throwing into your gym bag or purse without worrying about spills.) Chafing is one of those things that happens to most people at some point but doesn’t get talked about often, so I think this is a useful product to include.

sweatybox-december-2016-tablets

Saltstick Fast Chews (lemon lime x 10) – Value $2.99

These have electrolytes (sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium) to replenish you after sweating. The lemon lime flavor is vegan (the orange flavor contains a trace amount of lactose – I like when companies are so specific and upfront about ingredients). This is more of a summer item for me (hard to sweat in an exercise room that’s been hovering around 59 degrees) but definitely fits in with the goals of this box.

sweatybox-december-2016-wipes

Spruce & Co. Screen Cleaning Wipes (x2) – Value $1.60

These are vegan and alcohol-free. Of course, the first uses mentioned are cleaning phones and tablets, but for me, they were used on glasses. I can never have enough glasses cleaning wipes!

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $24.06 for the December SweatyBox. That is comfortably above the cost of the box. I like the overall message that you can be active and still interested in beauty and I find the items each month pretty handy to have around, in general. This is really a good low-cost option for fitness boxes if you don’t mind getting a few beauty items as well.

What did you think of the December SweatyBox?

  1. I received the January box today. What a disappointment. The lotion expires 3/17, the energee band looks like a freebie, some NCLA nail wraps and a packet of BUff Bake Birthday Cake. Okay, it’s not a complete disappointment with the Buff Bake but I cancelled.

By the way, shipping is $4.95 to the US.

  2. What a waste of money. I only paid for shipping but still it was such a waste. I don’t recommend this box at all. It’s such a rip off. I cancelled the second I got this box. What a disappointment.

  3. This was my first box, and I have to say, I was a little disappointed. I only paid $4.95 for the shipping (got the get the first box free deal) so I’ll give it a few months before deciding to keep it.

I know they’ve done better boxes, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

I do agree that the chafing product. It happens, but no one talks about it! That and the Saltsticks could be wins for me, but they’re both more warmer weather items in my case.

I am looking forward to receiving the January box.

    Great review Ragan! 🙂

    • My first box and I was disappointed as well. I had checked out Ragan’s prior reviews and liked almost everything in each box review. I won’t use anything in this box. 🙁

  4. This sub is new to me. I’d like to see what the next two months hold. I hope you’ll continue reviewing it! Thank you!
