Mishibox-December-2016-Bracelet

Pomina Semi-Precious Natural Stone Bracelet - Value $10?

This box included an extra gift to celebrate the new year. There were multiple color variations sent out, and I really like my light pink and green-toned one.

Mishibox-December-2016-Cheek-Balm

Urban Dollkiss Almighty Color Balm in Pink - Value $7.20

This is a multi-functional color balm that you can use on your eyes, lips, cheeks, or just about anywhere else. Subscribers received either the White or Pink shade, and I'm happy with my fun bright pink shade.

The balm looks very bold in the swatch, but it can blend out to whatever intensity you desire. The balm is creamy at first, but when set it has more of a powdery consistency. However, I do still feel a bit of balmy residue on my skin after application. The formula works especially well underneath powder makeup. For example, I apply powder blush over the balm to create a new cheek color for myself.

Mishibox-December-2016-Prelab-Mask

Prelab Skin Energy Ampoule Mask - Value $4

While the packaging sure looks interesting, this is just a traditional cotton sheet mask. There were four mask variations sent out, and I received the White mask in the pink packaging. The White mask is formulated to brighten and improve the skin's glow. I assume "White" here means "whitening," which is the equivalent of skin "brightening" in Western terminology. The mask fit was good and the essence had a pleasant fragrance, but the formula left my face feeling slightly tacky afterward. I also noticed a small, temporary decrease in redness and overall improvement in skin tone after use.

Mishibox-December-2016-Nohj-Mask

no:hj Gyeol (Texture) Mud Mask - Value $2

This sheet mask contains mud and natural ingredient extracts and is designed to adhere to the face while "wiping away the effects of stress, exhaustion or irritation." Subscribers were sent one of four variations, and I received Aloe Mud, which focuses on moisture. The mask fit was very nice and true to its claims. I also liked that it had a slight cooling sensation while worn. The mask material held a lot of essence, so much that it started dripping down my neck at first! My face felt so hydrated and refreshed after masking. The leftover essence did feel a little sticky, so I gave my face a quick rinse before completing the rest of my nighttime routine.

Mishibox-December-2016-Snail-Cream

Skin Watchers Green Snail Intensive Cream - Value $22.50

This is a snail cream that moisturizes and calms the skin without any stickiness. Snail mucus is known to have anti-aging, moisturizing, and soothing properties. Additionally, the cream is free of alcohol, parabens, mineral oil, and is great for sensitive skin. It is easy to apply, quick to absorb, and weightless on the skin. True to its claims, it doesn't feel sticky or tacky, which is exactly how I prefer my skincare. I'm very happy to have this for winter when I need heavier-duty creams to keep the skin from drying out.

The tube comes sealed. It also has a narrow neck and opening for ease of application.

Mishibox-December-2016-Heimish-Lip-Palette

heimish 5-Color Lip Palette - Value $4.50

I received a similar lip palette sampler in the September/October 2016 Jini Beauty box, but this one contains several different shades.

All shades are creamy and super blendable. They are more pigmented than I expected and have decent staying power. The brighter colors last longer than the paler ones. My favorite color is MRCR01 (Working Day), a beautiful peachy-pink that really complements my skin tone.

Verdict: Once again, Mishibox delivered great value and fun curation! This one had a nice balance of makeup and skincare (and the bracelet was a fun bonus). The total value is around $50.20, which is more than twice the cost of the subscription. Also, the Skin Watchers cream alone pretty much pays for the box, so everything else to me is gravy on top!

thanks for the review! i like the variety in this box – i’m thinking of subscribing to a few more asian skincare boxes once i use up my current backlog of products and this will be one of the first ones i subscribe to, i think.

I think brighten and whitening are too different things, the Koreans/Asians are obsess over white skin but it’s their culture I guess but I thought whitening your skin was harmful?

like nancy said, the general use of the word “whitening” in east asian skincare brands means brightening, and usually refers to the product’s ability to lighten dark spots and hyperpigmentation to brighten the overall complexion. korean skincare does unfortunately push the light skin ideal but none of the products that are included in subscription boxes or regularly discussed in asian beauty circles have bleaching agents.

Thank you for the review! This looks like the best Korean box IMO. Went through your previous boxes, and they seem to include some really good products. Tempting!
