The box came with a booklet that described each item and how to use it. The box had 7 items total.
As aways, the booklet included a mini makeup tutorial.
These are usually pretty simple looks but a nice way to get into makeup if you're a beginner or learn how to use some of the products in each box.
Hot Gel Mask - Value?
I was excited when this item was revealed in a spoiler because I enjoy warming masks but haven’t tried too many. The suggested use for this hot gel mask is to apply it to your face and/or upper body while in the bath. I tried this out on my face first. It feels slightly warm when you first apply it but massaging it really releases the warmth. I found this really soothing and can see how it could also be useful for muscle relief. If you’re a bath person, this is a great relaxation enhancer!
Teapod Hand Cream - Value $10.57
There were three variations of this hand cream in this month’s box - Earl Grey, Rose, or Lemon. I received the Rose scent. This is also from PureSmile and is a totally straightforward rose scent. I used to dislike rose scent when I was younger but it’s really grown on me in recent years so I liked this. The hand cream felt slightly greasy when I first put it on but it dried to a silky, powdery finish. This is a nice size (60g) to keep at my bedside or in my purse.
Dear Laura Lip Gloss - Value $10
This is from the Dear Laura - same brand that brought up the lip/cheek palette in the last crate. This gloss is tinted but just barely - it’s an extremely pale pink that comes across as mostly clear. There’s no scent or flavor to this which I actually prefer. It does provide a nice shine and the real draw with this product is the cute packaging.
Avance Tweety Eye Liner - Value $10.15
This packaging is so adorable. I can always use a simple black eyeliner and the cuter, the better. The tip of this pen feels like a really thin, felt-tip. The tip is thin enough to create a really thin line or a thicker line with some more pressure. This dries well but isn’t waterproof so it is smudgeable. But, to be fair, I had to really try to smudge it once it was fully dry so I don’t see this being a big problem.
Here's a better look at the Tweety design.
I really like the size of the tip and the color is super black.
Biyou Shukan Towels, 20 Pack - Value?
These absorbent towels are meant to be used after you wash your face. They are really nice and spongelike so I enjoyed using them. I would feel pretty wasteful using disposable towels every time I wash my face but these are perfect for traveling (when you maybe don’t know how hygienically sound your surroundings will be). I have a trip coming up and this 20-pack will definitely come in handy!
Red Wine Mask - Value $1.50
I’ve tried a bunch of sheet masks but I’ve never actually seen a red wine sheet mask before! I usually find the sheet masks in this box to be nice but underwhelming, due to the fact that you can find sheet masks in so many places now. But this was a new one for me! While the info booklet states that this does not have wine in it, it definitely has the scent of a sweet red wine. I really enjoyed the berry scent. As with all PureSmile sheet masks, there’s a nice amount of product on it. After I took the mask off and rubbed in the extra product, my skin dried to a nice, smooth finish. My skin also felt really cool and refreshed.
Mebika Hair Care - Value?
A hair product was a nice change for the box! This was a sample size of a shampoo and conditioning mask. My hair is pretty long and thick so I just did a test section of these products. The scent was mild but pretty and the conditioner felt moisturizing. I’d like to try some more hair care products in the future because I haven’t had any exposure to these brands before.
Verdict: This box was harder for me to estimate pricing because I wasn't able to find most of these products online. Overall, I really enjoyed this box. I hope there will be more haircare products in future boxes because I like the shampoo and conditioner included in this box. This box felt like a nice mix of cute and practical. The makeup products always feel like they're more on the cutesy side but the lip gloss and eyeliner are decent quality. I'll definitely make good use of those. The sheet mask and lotion are often included in these boxes but I liked the twist of having a red wine mask! And the towels were a nice addition. This box feels worth it for me when they include products I either haven't heard of or don't have easy access to. The hot gel mask and hair products were my favorite parts of this month's box.
