This is a very simply packaged subscription box – the purse comes in a non-marked box, and there are very few accouterments! When you sign up for your account, you fill out a full survey to give them an idea of what bags you would most like. Ivory Clasp also offers a phone consultation as well.

Mars Mini Duffle Bag – by Vertigo – Value $148.00

This month, I received a bag by Vertigo USA. This bag is made from Polyurethane and has a heavy, metal crossbody strap as well as handles. It definitely has some Chanel vibes with the metal strap and the quilted look!

The bag has one pocket on the front and one zip pocket on the inside – look at the color of the lining! I think that is my favorite part about this bag. It is so vibrant and provides a nice contrast to anything in your purse – nothing will get lost!

Here’s the inside – with the same beautiful lining. The zip pocket is on the back of the bag and all of the zippers are very smooth. This feels like a very nicely made bag, even if it isn’t leather.

Ivory Clasp also included a faux fur pom pom this month as an added bonus for subscribers. I love the cream color I received and it looks great on the bag as a clip, or on my keys.

Here’s my crossover day-to-night look. I wore this out Christmas shopping and then out to dinner. I paired the bag with my Boden car coat, Vince Camuto pencil skirt (I have approximately 17…so you’ll see these a lot), Spun Luxury scarf from PopSugar, and Aquatalia booties.

And here’s the picture looking down – I really liked the look of this bag!

Verdict: This month from Ivory Clasp was a great month for me. The value of my bag was over $100.00 more than the cost of the subscription and the faux fur pom pom was a fun addition! I am still hoping that one of these days I’ll get an actual leather bag from Ivory Clasp, since that’s what I tend to gravitate toward. I don’t know many people that would purchase a non-leather handbag for this price – $148 is pretty steep for fake leather. Either way though, the design of the bag is great and it feels like it will hold up to extensive use.

Have you tried Ivory Clasp yet?

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane…the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane…but she’s always looking for a new subscription to try!

  1. I returned my first bag and they got it 12/13. I’ve not received a replacement yet. This is company is way over their heads-I’ve seen better service for a $10 Target box.

  2. The bag is cute, and versatile in black, but the silver zipper looks dated.

  3. I received my bag and had remembered stating that I did not like fringe. I got a full fringed bag. I decided to keep the bag and cut off all the fringe. Now I love it. I’m going to give it one more month.

First impression is, that they need faster shipping and quicker communication. I would also change a lot about the asthetic of the brand image. The packaging is really really basic. Social media presence is inconsistent. I don’t know why I thought so much about it. I guess I wanted to LOVE Ivory Clasp.

  4. I received the same bag as you and I love it. My pom pom was black😍

    • I also really like your coat and skirt and appreciate that you tell us the designers in your reviews.

  5. This identical bag is available on Amazon for just $75 and is not listed as a sale price, half of the supposed retail price from their website/tags. All of their Amazon items are less than half of the retail mentioned on their website.

While that price is still more than the subscription cost, the inflated retail is a turn-off for me.

    • The Vertigo site has the bags for 98 for the cheapest knew…

      • This particular one is listed at 148 on their site.

  6. I personally would pay a lot of money for fake leather and zero money for real leather, since real leather is gross in my opinion. Thanks for the review! I’m really tempted to subscribe now, especially after seeing that bag. It’s super cute!

    • As a warning, I had a similar reaction back in November and received an awful, awful bag. Completely disregarded my “style survey”. Yes they will replace it, but you’re responsible for return shipping. Just beware that the bag you receive might be on a different level than the one being reviewed.

Also as someone below commented, mine was nowhere to be found online (couldn’t even find the brand.)

      • I had the same problem & mine smells terrible! I had to wait almost a month for a bag I Hate and am going to have PAY to send back. This company sucks

  7. OK there’s no way that bag is worth that much. No wonder the subscription got ahold of it… no one else was buying it.

  8. I didn’t like the bag I received. Plus they say they send bags that are currently available, my bag was nowhere online at all. I sent it back and have yet to receive a new one.
