Soapstone is a soft rock, popular in sculpture for its ability to be molded into various and complex shapes. Oh so like the heart itself! Your new soapstone heart, carved with a heartfelt word, was crafted by the Shona people, whose traditional stone sculptures are known around the world.

Mogendi Murei is a carver and a family man. He has a lot of children! Through his carving work, he has educated them all, and provided for his extended family.

Mogendi is extremely dedicated to his family, his craft, and improving the quality of life for his beloveds. His tireless work has enabled him, in this year alone, to build a new house and buy a cow. With his family as his fuel, one can truly say that Mogendi works from the heart.

I love this piece! It’s a great jewelry catchall, and it fits my minimalistic design preferences for Valentine’s Day, too!

  1. Accidentally subscribed to artisan instead of club. How can I see if they refunded my money?

  2. I’d subscribe to the globe in club if they didn’t threaten to send me a basket! I have enough of those!

    • I was just reading their FAQ and saw that they do offer an option to not receive a basket. It says you can “substitute a themed product for the basket in the Artisan Box. You can select this option in the subscription settings on your account from the 1st to the 5th of each month.”

I had been wondering the same! HTH!

      • But I believe that substitution is just for Artisan box subscribers when they do have a basket substitute available. The Club box doesn’t come with a basket at all unless the item they send that month happens to be a basket. If that’s the case, I think your only option would be to cancel and resubscribe later if you don’t want a basket since you don’t have the option to skip a month and have it automatically restart the next month with the Club subscription.

        • I agree from what I copied over from the FAQ only mentioned the Artisan Box. I assume that’s because like you said the Club Box doesn’t include a basket so a substitution for it wouldn’t be necessary. No clue about the availability of other items in exchange of the basket though. Didn’t think about that! Thank you!

  3. Are the add-on discounts only available to subscribers of GlobeIn Club and not GlobeIn Artisan Box subscribers? I just signed up for a 3-month sub to the Artisan Box and this isn’t clear to me. Thank you!

    • The items shown are for the Club subscription. As an Artisan box subscriber, you should be able to log in between the 1st-5th of the month and see discounted add-on items for that month’s Artisan box too (they are usually similar between the subs). After the 5th they “freeze” the items you chose, you will be billed for them and they will be shipped with that month’s box around the 20th (usually). The process is similar between the two subs…the cutoff and shipment dates are just different. So try looking tomorrow and you should hopefully see add-on choices for the Artisan box!

      • Thank you, LB! Do you subscribe to both? If so, what are your thoughts between the two? I only signed up for a 3-month sub to the Artisan Box, but I would consider the GlobeIn Club after since it’s only $10 a month, unless you find yourself getting stationary every month, lol.

        • Ya, I started with a sub to the Artisan box almost a year ago and then added on the Club subscription when they launched it about 5 or so months ago. I think the Artisan box gives you more “bang for your buck” but it is more expensive. Also, it is the sub that gives you new items (not already available in the online store or featured in a box). Up to this month the Club box has been items previously featured in the Artisan boxes (a scarf, hanging wall organizer, salt, salad grabbers) but you get them cheaper from the sub than you typically could from the online store and everyone got the same thing. However, this month they said that different subscribers may get different items every month so I’m not sure if they will continue to still be “old” items or if they are going to start incorporating new ones too. In summary, I prefer the Artisan box but Club is a good option if you want a lower cost way to still get a surprise artisan goodie every month…and you aren’t worried about the possibility of getting a duplicate item if you are or have been an Artisan box subscriber.

          • Very helpful. Thank you! I’ll consider it in the future, but I might not bother with it till I see how things go with the updates you mentioned. While I never mind getting another scarf, I wouldn’t be too excited to receive salt or salad grabbers, lol.
