BabyBin has just started a monthly subscription box that brings you age and gender-appropriate products for you and your baby to keep! They previously had a subscription model that felt like a “Stitch Fix of baby boxes,” where they sent you a “styled/curated” box filled with items and you would pay only for what you keep. I really like their new model better. I’d much rather pay a flat rate for a subscription that will bring me a good value in surprise baby products because I can go to the store and touch, feel, and buy toys and clothes and gear at full-price myself at any time on my own. I’m really glad they changed their model because I always loved the products they sent.
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Munchkin Traveling Flash Cards – Value $8? (found on Amazon for $4.99 as an add-on item)
This is a little traveling set of flash cards that has 40 pages of shapes, colors, and animals. There’s a mirror on the front cover, too, that my son loves.
All 80 images are bilingual, and I love that the animal images are real photos and not just drawings. This says ages 3+ but honestly, my one-year-old is loving flipping through it and naming or imitating all the animals. This has been our current car seat book lately.
Oball Go Grippers 2 Pack Vehicle Small Car Set – Value $16.99
I love all things Oball! If you’re not familiar, Oball toys are all made with this sort of soft plastic mesh that is easy to grab and pick up for children of all ages. I think they just started out with a ball, and they have expanded their products to offer just about anything due to the success of the idea! I own a few products but none of these cars so I’m happy to have them. Great quality toys!
Toysmith Super Subbies, Turtle - $4.47
This is a motorized sea turtle for pool and bathtub use. My first impression was that this toy feels a little cheap, but it takes AA batteries and runs well.
It’s cute, though! However, many of its Amazon reviews say the battery compartment has a poor seal and leaks water into the batteries. Most of those are from 2012, though, so I’m looking forward to seeing if that’s been solved by now.
B. Toys HiPhone – Value $13.95 on Amazon (retail price $24.99)
This is one of my favorite toys from this whole box! It’s a little phone with a wrist strap. Each of the buttons on the screen makes noises and trigger sounds, and there are a pushable home button and a couple buttons on each side. It says phrases like “Hi there, cutie pie!” and even plays music. Also, one of the songs totally sounds like Nicki Minaj’s “Starships,” haha.
This is a great quality toy and I love keeping it in my diaper bag to hand to him when I need a distraction. My only complaint is that I can’t find an off button. There’s a “lock” button on one side but no matter which way that’s flipped the buttons still make noise. Maybe this one has a broken lock switch? I’m not super mad about it, though.
Verdict: This January 2017 BabyBin box was quite fun. I like everything and have enjoyed the toys we’ve played with so far. I’m also really happy, as always, with the brands that BabyBin sends! The value this month adds up to $43.41 (using the Amazon price for the phone. $54.45 using retail prices), which I think is a good for a $33 box. That’s some nice savings considering I like all of the products.
