This month's Messy Box had a festive and cozy holiday vibe with nods to traditional holiday colors.
Scrapbooking Sheets - 9"x12"
Messy Box always comes with 9"x12" scrapbooking sheets that represent the colors and themes for the rest of the box. The colors are bright and cheery and feel festive for the holiday without being the traditional red and green. Ornaments, candies and winter words are presented in pinks, blues, and an olivey green.
Journal Cards - 8, 3" x 4"
The 3" x 4" journal cards are decorated with cold weather designs and sentiments. The stocking card is so cute and makes a great gift tag. I love the "Beanie Season" card because I look forward to wearing my favorite knit hat during these wintry cold days.
The backs of the cards are more subtle with room for notes or sketches.
Journal Cards - 12, 3" x 3"
The square journal cards continue the wintry holiday theme with a snow globe, ice skates, ornaments, mittens, and winter words. The car with the tree on top is so cute!
Like the larger journal cards, the square cards are printed on the back with alternate designs, grids, or lines for journaling.
Journal Cards - 4, 4" x 6"
The 4 large journal cards are a nice sampling of all the design notes carried through this box. My favorite is the pale pink card with the branch design.
Here's a look at the back of the cards. These are great for writing personal notes or passing along recipes.
Winter Words Sticker Sheet
The Messy Box also included a sheet of winter and Christmas phrases with white letters on a mint background. My favorite phrase on this sheet is "cookies for breakfast" which is something I definitely enjoy over the holidays.
Pink Gift Tags - Set of 3
The box included 3 simple pink gift tags. These would look great tied to a gift with baker's twine in nearly any color. I like the simplicity of these and that hey have the vintage-style protectors around the punched circle.
Blue Sequins.
I think it's a nice touch when the Messy Box includes little bits of tasteful confetti and I was excited to see a tiny pouch of blue sequins in this month's box. These look nice glued to a scrapbooking page or adding a bit of flare to an envelope.
Transparent Die Cut Winter Accessories
I love these die cut transparent mittens, stockings, and hat! They look nice layered over patterned paper or photographs on your scrapbooking sheets or on handmade greeting cards.
Washi Tape
You can really never have enough washi tape. Why use regular tape when this stuff exists? I use this to tape cards above my desk, wrap gifts, and seal envelopes. A touch of color from washi tape is always a nice touch and I think this pink color is great!
Verdict: The cool wintry Christmas vibes from the December box were lovely! I really enjoyed the winter accessory illustrations and the overall colorway this month. Messy Box is a great subscription for anyone who loves paper goods, scrapbooking, and little bits and bobs. The value is definitely there for me in the number of items packed into every box, the consistent quality, and the excellent curation. Well done!
