There are also recipes that incorporate the items included.

yummy-bazaar-full-experience-box-november-2016-fish

Norwegian Fish Balls by Sunnmore - Value $7.99

Fish balls are a Norwegian classic, and they’re made from ground up white fish and typically served with potatoes and cream sauce. It’s a dish that I’ve tried once or twice, but I can’t really say I’m a fan. Still, since it’s a food many Norwegians grow up with, it makes a lot of sense to include it in this box. Luckily, while I wasn’t jumping at the chance to eat these, my husband was happy to claim them.

yummy-bazaar-full-experience-box-november-2016-flatbread

Norwegian Flatbread by Ideal - Value $4.79

These flatbreads are shockingly thin— they’re almost like sheets of paper! They’re crisp and crunchy, and the flavor definitely grew on me. I didn’t think much of my first bite (they’re pretty mild without a lot of seasoning), but I found that I kept going back for another nibble.

Swedish Ginger Snaps by Lars - Value $5.99

I love Ginger Snaps, and Lars makes some of the absolute best! I’ve purchased these cookies several times before, and they are incredibly flavorful and extremely addictive. They’re crisp, rich, heavily spiced, and perfect with coffee.

Swedish Gooseberry Preserves by Hafi - Value $7

I’m pretty sure I’ve picked up a jar of gooseberry preserves before in IKEA’s grocery area, and I remember really liking it, so I was excited to see some in this box. (Does anyone else think the IKEA food section is the best part about shopping there?) My husband eats toast nearly every morning, and he loves trying new flavors, so he opened this up pretty much immediately after it arrived. The flavor is a little sweet and a little sour, and he really enjoyed it. (I snuck a taste, too, and I thought it was really interesting. I don’t often eat toast, though, so I might be more likely to eat some with cheese and crackers.)

yummy-bazaar-full-experience-box-november-2016-mustard

Spicy Swedish Mustard by Slotts - Value $5.99

According to Yummy Bazaar, Slotts mustard is one of the most beloved condiments in Sweden, and I can see why! This mustard is spicy and textured, with a strong, zippy taste that’s really nice. I tried it on a hot ham and cheese sandwich, and it added a great punch of flavor.

yummy-bazaar-full-experience-box-november-2016-syrup

Swedish Lingonberry Syrup by Hafi - Value $2.98

This wouldn’t be a Scandinavian box without some lingonberry! Lingonberry jam is a favorite of mine, and this syrup is pretty tasty, too. To use this mix, you simply combine 3 parts water with one part drink concentrate. Easy peasy! I made a big pitcher of this for Thanksgiving and served it with some cranberries frozen in ice cubes. It was a hit.

yummy-bazaar-full-experience-box-november-2016-licorice

Premium Swedish Sweet Liquorice by Lakritsfabriken - Value $4.50

I like licorice, and this stuff is really good; however, I have to point out that it’s not really that sweet. (By “sweet” I think they mean “not salty.” I learned from Universal Yums’ Scandinavian box that both kinds of licorice are popular in Scandinavia.) The texture is soft and a little chewy, and the licorice flavor is quite pronounced.

yummy-bazaar-full-experience-box-november-2016-chocolates

Mokkabonner Coffee Chocolates by Midar - Value $10

The last item in this month’s box is a rather sizable package of coffee-flavored chocolates. I love that the little candies look like coffee beans, and I’m a big fan of the mocha flavor!

Verdict: Yummy Bazaar's Destination Food Club is one of my favorite gourmet food subscription boxes. They always do a great job curating boxes around a specific country or region, and the value is consistently great. I enjoyed the items selected this month to represent Scandinavia, and I had a lot of fun sampling all of the different products. Altogether, the retail price of the items in this box totals approximately $49. That’s not quite as high as some of Yummy Bazaar’s previous boxes, but it’s still pretty impressive!

Thank you for the great review. Yummy Bazaar has become my favorite foodie box. It is such a fun cultural adventure for my granddaughter and I. I also appreciate that I can purchase some of my favorite box discoveries in their shop.
