WODBOM stands for “Workout of the Day – Box of the Month” and is a subscription box designed for CrossFit enthusiasts, by CrossFit enthusiasts. (Although, I don’t think you absolutely have to be into CrossFit to get something out of this box, as long as you are interested in working out!)

Included was an information card describing the products in the box. There was also some product literature.

wodbom-december-2016-cookies

Caveman Cookies in “North Pole” Flavor (4 oz) – Value $5.95

These are peppermint chocolate cookies and they’re soft and chewy. I had a lot of calories left the day I ate these, so I had half the package. I would not necessarily recommend doing that as I think all the sugar (the first two ingredients are honey and maple syrup) gave me a stomach ache. But eating just ONE should be fine!

Earth Fed Muscle Primitive Protein in Vanilla Whey (30 g) – Value $1.32

Earth Fed Muscle Primitive Protein in Chocolate Whey (30 g) – Value $1.32

This protein powder is made from cows not treated with rBGH and it has very few ingredients – just whey, stevia, and either cacao or vanilla, respectively. I have been using it in my morning smoothies and it blends really nicely.

wodbom-december-2016-ginger

Prince of Peace Ginger Honey Crystals (0.35 oz) – Value $0.44

You can drink this alone in hot water as a tea, or you can add it to regular tea (what I do) for a bit of extra flavor. I like having a bit of ginger on hand for days when my stomach is unsettled.

Vicia Almond Noir Energy Bar (1.83 oz) – Value $3

This is a new brand for me. It has a dark chocolate coating that, amazingly, didn’t flake off in little bits. It is vegan, gluten free, soy free, and non-GMO. And it tastes pretty good for something that suits so many people with dietary restrictions.

Prince of Peace Ginger Chews (3 pieces) – Value $0.19

These are mostly sugar but they are small. I have had them before and they are good for freshening the breath after lunch. Just be careful if you have much dental work because they are STICKY.

wodbom-december-2016-roller

Triggerpoint Grid Mini Foam Roller – Value $24.99

This is supposed to be travel-friendly. And it is pretty easy to pack away since you can stuff socks or underwear inside to save space. It is also small. While it works for me (I am small-framed), it may be a bit difficult to maneuver for larger people, especially with larger muscle groups like in the legs.

Junk Brands Winter Ear Warmer – Listed Value $20

There are a whole bunch of different designs and they are all different prices so I took the value from the information card. (It is within the range of the other prices, though.) I never do workouts outside but I am walking Nyx some now since her legs are doing better, so this will be useful then.

wodbom-december-2016-shirt

Cambro Apparel Tee – Value $25

I love this shirt! I haven’t eaten a doughnut all year, though. But I have some more calories to play with now since I am done losing weight, so maybe…

Verdict: I calculated a value of $82.21 for the December WODBOM. That is a great value. I loved that all the food items were vegetarian (that’s not always the case), the shirt is cute, and everything is useful to me. Although this box is marketed towards Crossfit enthusiasts, you totally don’t have to be into Crossfit to get something out of it, as long as you like to work out!

I liked this box so much, then I took a good look at the ear-warmer. First, it’s a $20 value? Then, it has 2 logos on it? I call that company giveaways. If it didn’t have their names on it I would def. sub to this box.

Other than the design, which is custom for the box, it is the same as ear warmers sold on the manufacturer’s website. So they worked with a brand to produce a design that you can’t get elsewhere, which seems to be fairly common for all the fitness boxes.
