The Vegan Cuts Snack Box is a monthly subscription box from Vegan Cuts full of vegan and natural food products and snacks. Many of the items will be gluten free, but this box is not a dedicated gluten free box. Vegan Cuts also offers a Beauty Box and Makeup Box.

Peeled Snacks Peas Please in Garden Herb (0.77 oz) – Value $1.49

I’ve had some other Peeled snacks, mostly involving apple, but these were new to me. They are similar to Snapea Crisps but I think I like the texture of Snapea Crisps a bit better. If there are other flavors, I’d be interested in trying them, though.

Rawrev Glo Bar in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (1.6 oz) – Value $1.83

Rawrev Glo bars have been everywhere for the past year. I’ve probably eaten at least 12 of them but never once bought one! They have a seriously unappetizing appearance but do try to get over that because they’re pretty tasty and full of protein, fiber, and healthful plant fats.

Lundberg Rice Chips in Sea Salt (1.5 oz) – Value $0.81

These are another subscription box staple.  The first few packages of Lundberg rice chips I got (last year?) had a weird, cardboard-like texture, but they must’ve been reformulated because these are much, much better. This variety is a bit plain but good with some salsa.

Life’s Nuts Sprouted Salt and Vinegar Almonds (1.4 oz) – Value $3.99

We got a different flavor of these last month. They have a great texture for raw, sprouted nuts. The salt and vinegar flavor wasn’t bad. There was just a little bit of weirdness, though, as 2-3 of the almonds tasted strongly of almond extract (which is not a good combination with salt and vinegar). I think this must have something to do with the processing of raw almonds.

Hippeas in Vegan White Cheddar (1 oz) – Value $1.34

These are made from chickpea flour. They’re fairly crunchy. I don’t think they tasted at all like cheddar, vegan or otherwise, but I like trying snacks made of different kinds of flour with a preference for legumes and whole grains, and these were new to me.

Crown Nut Co. Maple Bacon Flavored Almonds (0.6 oz) – Value $1

I have no idea if these taste like actual bacon, which I never liked (gasp!) and haven’t eaten for over 23 years, at any rate. They do have a nice sweet-savory thing going on.

Cosmos Creations Sea Salt and Butter Premium Puffed Corn (1 oz) – Value $1.49

In a blind taste test, I would’ve assumed these were cornstarch packing peanuts with a bit of fake butter flavor and salt. And yet, I really liked the fake butter and salt. (It did kind of taste like real butter. Or at any rate, it was a better approximation of dairy than most vegan snacks achieve.)

I Heart Keenwah Chocolate Puffs (2.5 oz) – Value $3.99

I love these. They kind of look like big malted milk balls (on the inside and the outside), but they are actually chocolate-coated quinoa flour puffs. What I was particularly happy to find out was that the texture of these was not nearly as hard as other snacks from this brand.

PB2 (0.85 oz) – Value $0.36

This is a pantry staple for me. I use it in smoothies, my husband puts it in his oatmeal, and we put it into pancakes and other baked goods sometimes, too.

MRM All Natural Veggie Elite Performance Protein in Cinnamon Bun (1.2 oz) – Value $1.04

I don’t think I’ve ever received cinnamon-flavored protein powder before. I’m familiar with this brand from a Yogi Surprise limited edition box (I’ve tried some powdered greens from them) but this product is new to me. As with all protein powders, I mixed it into smoothies. The cinnamon flavor doesn’t really stand out in my smoothies but I have a lot of other ingredients in there, and it certainly doesn’t conflict. If you are interested in drinking straight protein shakes, you should notice the flavor more.

Bounce Superberry Energy Ball (1.48 oz x 2) – Total Value $3.12

These were great. They are pretty much date rolls, but I really like date rolls. Nice soft texture and the berry flavor was good, too. I hope to see more of these in the future.

Yogi Tea “Bedtime” (1 bag) – Value $0.31

Yogi Tea Tulsi Spiced Berry Immune Support (1 bag) – Value $0.31

There were also a couple of samples of Yogi Tea. These flavors are both new to me. I don’t really believe any of the Yogi Tea medical claims, but rather treat them as new and interesting herbal teas, which is a type of product I consume regularly.

Arya Curcumin+ Beverage (12 fl oz) – Value $3.49

There is often a drink in the Vegan Cuts Snack box. This month it was a curcumin supplement. (Curcumin is an anti-inflammatory compound isolated from turmeric.) This was fizzy and had a generic fruity flavor (that I did like) and looked like fresh squeezed orange juice with a splash of fluorescein.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $24.57 for this month’s Vegan Cuts Snack Box. This is one of my favorite snack boxes from Vegan Cuts for a long time, maybe ever. The value is great and nearly everything was both (1) good and (2) new to me (plus, since I am vegetarian, I knew I could eat everything in this box without analyzing the ingredients lists on the products).  I can’t really ask for more than that from a food subscription!
