This box included a letter addressed to Nyx!
There was also a card with a photo of a dog with last month’s box items and a promo offer.
And ANOTHER gift code for Hello Fresh. There must be a warehouse full of these somewhere…
This meme was on the inside of the box. Unfortunately, I got the box two days after Thanksgiving, but the pug is cute.
Petzip Goody Ball – Value $5?
Although I can find photos of this online, I can’t actually find it for sale anywhere, so I based my estimate of the value on similar-sized rubber treat-dispensing toys. This is a little on the small side for Nyx but since she can’t have treats due to her IBD anyway, I’ll just pass it on to someone with a smaller dog.
Emmy’s Gourmet Canine Creations Turkey Cookie – Value $1.35
Pet Treater often sends holiday cookies from Emmy’s. I think this is a cute touch. This one has the flavor “carob peanut butter crunch” and is free of wheat, corn, and soy as well as animal proteins.
Baron Chocolatier Premium Milk Chocolate with Sea Salt Caramel (100 g) – Value $0.99
Pet Treater will usually have an item with a “For Your Human” sticker. I was at first very excited to see this chocolate bar, but it was not in very good shape upon inspection. It was broken into several pieces and then there was the expiration date:
Here is the expiration date, just a few days after I received the box. (This is a good time to remind you to check the dates of all dog and human edibles from Pet Treater.)
Grriggles Awesome Ape – Value $8.50
OK, this absolutely WAS awesome. (Shown next to Mr. Kitty for size reference. He is not a small cat.) It has velcro on its hands so you can attach it to things (although Nyx kept pulling it off her back). It makes the strangest noise of all time. It doesn’t have a regular squeaker but instead some kind of button-activated playback device. There are like jungle screeches and stuff when it is activated.
All You Need is Love and Pets Plaque – Value $1?
You Left Pawprints on My Heart Plaque – Value $1?
It is a little weird to get two plaques with cutesy sayings on them in the same month. These are from a company called Regent Products Corp., which is a wholesale supplier to dollar stores (seriously, that was the first search result to turn up when I Googled them).
I can’t find these items on their site, but based on the other wall plaques they offer, this is my best value estimate. I may be looking at wholesale prices, though, so you could potentially add another dollar or two. These are very lightweight.
Puppy Scoops Maple Bacon Flavor (6 oz) – Value $6.99
Sadly, Nyx can’t have this. But we have received this in many other dog subscription boxes and I have learned that my mom’s dog LOVES this stuff, so I will be sending it back to Missouri for her to have. The whole idea behind Puppy Scoops is that you have treats for dogs with human-grade ingredients. This is made and sourced in the USA with lactose-free milk.
Dingo’s Market Cuts Chicken Jerky (8 oz) – Value $9.36
These are made in the USA from and there is no grain or gluten or soy or anything like that in there (just potassium sorbate for a preservative and some glycerin). This is a pretty generously-sized bag, too.
Nyx thought this toy was awesome. I enjoyed it as well. It made the funniest noise of all time and every time the noise went off, Nyx would stop and stare at the toy. It was hilarious. (Although I think it scared the cats…)
Verdict: I calculated a value of $34.19 for the November Pet Treater dog subscription box. Of course, there is a little wiggle room either way since I couldn’t find all the products for sale online, but that is a below average value for Pet Treater. The stuffed monkey totally made the box for us. I laughed so much when Nyx was playing with that. Do be aware that you will get some closeouts in this box, so check expiration dates carefully.
What do you think of the November 2016 Pet Treater box? Do you subscribe to any dog or cat boxes?
