My Paper + Pen subscription arrived in a bubble mailing envelope. All of the items were nicely wrapped in tissue paper when I opened it.

Naughty and Nice Gift Bag – Value $2.00?

This month’s theme is all about winter and the holidays! This cute little bag is perfect for a gift card or other small gift. I never seem to have enough gift bags this time of year, so this was put to good use!

Worthwhile Paper – Gift Stickers – Value $6.00

These little stickers are perfect for wrapping gifts this season! I love that they are stickers, to make it easy while tagging gifts. So much better than taping them on! They are made out of kraft paper, so they were pretty easy to write on as well.

Christmas Tree Ornament – $1.00?

This little ornament made a perfect accompaniment for one of my gifts that I wrapped this year. I usually choose a few colors to go with each year for wrapping purposes, and the wrap that I chose was kraft paper and polka dots. This tree looked super cute with the kraft paper polka dot paper!

2 Rolls of Washi Tape – $4.00?

This Washi tape was perfect to accent my kraft paper wrapping this year! I used a bit of it as decoration (I find that it’s not really sturdy enough to hold the paper together, so I just use it as an accent instead). I loved the stripes and the bicycle pattern.

Happy Face Pencil – $2.00?

This little pencil is the perfect color for winter and that eraser on top is a lot more realistic than the 1/2 inch long eraser that usually comes with a pencil!

Mug Notebook – $3.00?

This little mug notebook is really cute and matches the pencil nicely! This would be a really cute gift for a little girl. I don’t really see myself using these.

This is the inside of the notebook – the pages are blank and they look like they are made from recycled paper!

Verdict: I think this month from Paper + Pen was very nicely curated – very wintery and holiday-themed. Paper + Pen really doesn’t give a breakdown of the box anymore on their website (this is the third month they haven’t), so I don’t have an accurate value judgment for the box. Based on my estimates, though, it’s about $18.00. In general, I really like this subscription, but the values are pretty low most of the time. Just something to keep in mind if you’re going to subscribe!

Have you tried Paper + Pen yet?

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane…the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane…but she’s always looking for a new subscription to try!

  1. This would be a really cute sub at like 12-15 dollars, $20 is just too high to take the chance, or they really need to up the quality of the items. It makes no sense to pay $20 for $18 worth of stuff that I can get at Michaels or Amazon (and maybe cheaper). Really cute though, I was slightly bummed though, when I seen the name I was expecting more of a snail mail curation which is kind of my New Years resolution. Either way cute box, and great review!
