This month's box transforms into a spaceship, complete with wings and boosters in the back.

The instructions are printed on the inside of the box, and no extra tools are required.

loot-anime-december-2016-ein-plush

Cowboy Bebop Ein Plush - Value $24?

This is the cutest plush toy I've ever received from a subscription box! This corgi's name is Ein, a character from the 90s space Western anime, Cowboy Bebop. Ein has enhanced intelligence (people suspect Ein is short for Einstein) and can understand human language, but he can only bark, so most of the time the protagonists treats him like a simple pet.

He wears a faux leather collar with a gold name tag.

His fur is super soft! This is a very well-constructed plush.

I estimated the value based off similar Ein plushes online.

Exclusive Robotech LED Lamp - Value $20?

Robotech is a anime series that has transforming robots, giant alien spaceships, galactic warfare, and a love triangle. This robot lamp is modeled after a robot from Robotech: The Macross Saga, a video game from the same franchise.

It comes with an instructions slip. The LED lamp has four settings:

Red light,

Blue light,

Green light, and lastly, a multi-colored setting. The light is surprisingly bright! It could work as a night light or a decorative piece. The acrylic plate is detachable from the base so storage is simple as well.

Space Patrol Luluco Keychain - Value $8?

Space Patrol Luluco is a sci-fi/comedy anime about a thirteen-year-old girl who has to take on her father's responsibilities as a Space Patrol agent after he becomes accidentally frozen in a block of ice. This series is made by the same people as Kill La Kill, so I will definitely be checking it out.

This keychain is modeled after an "aflutter jewel," which is the manifestation of a girl's first love. This is a solid, substantial piece. I love it when the crystal catches the light.

loot-anime-december-2016-sailor-moon-bottle-opener

Sailor Moon "Moon Stick" Bottle Opener - Value $10?

The Moon Stick is Sailor Moon's weapon of choice. This pays homage to the classic wand as a fancy bottle opener.

The Moon Stick is printed on both sides of the bottle opener. The artwork is protected by a layer of clear plastic enamel. It's a quality piece and I look forward to showing it off to friends when we host parties.

Also included in the box is an ad for a theater re-release for Sailor Moon R: The Movie. I actually own the VHS tape to this movie and watched it nonstop as a kid. This movie is highly recommended! Needless to say, Sailor Moon was a big part of my early years.

loot-anime-december-2016-charm

Yume GALAXY Charm - Value $2?

This is the monthly charm. Yume, Loot Anime's mascot, seems to be having a blast exploring outer space in her spacesuit.

There's also glitter embedded in the charm! It is such a cute touch.

Verdict: I was sold on the box as soon I saw the Sailor Moon bottle opener! Loot Anime does not cut corners on quality, and that is what stands out and impresses me the most. My favorite is a tie between the Ein plush and the bottle opener, but overall this box is fantastic. My estimated retail value is $64, which is more than twice the cost of the subscription.

ELAINE PLEASANTS

Loved the Ein and the lamp, so not disappointed, but we do miss getting a manga this month. I hope that this month was an exception there.
