It looks like the cup/saucer won’t be included in the box after all. They’re subbing it for another item, which is a mug. Quite disappointed.

I just got an email that the teacups will not be available this month, they are substituting a small Le Souk mug. The only way to get one would be to buy another Comfort box in January or add one on to a Jan. box. Here’s what the email said:
“When working with small artisan organizations in remote areas of the world, there are frequently unpredictable obstacles with production and shipping. The teacup and saucer are being produced by a cooperative in Khurja, India through The Village Experience. Normally in this region, there is abundant sunshine that allows the artisans to dry the ceramics outside. But during the past month, the climate in Khurja has changed unexpectedly. There has been nothing but fog and cloudy weather, so the ceramics have not had a chance to dry adequately to be shipped in time to the US.

Because of this, we will not be including the teacup and saucer in the Comfort Box as planned for the month of December. Instead, you will find a small hand-painted mug from Le Souk Ceramique inside the box.

Hopefully the weather in Khurja will return to the sunshine they are used to within the next month. If everything goes as planned, then we will make the teacups available as add-ons in January, along with Comfort Boxes with teacups and saucers.”

Thanks for the info! That’s interesting – I wonder why we don’t all get the email at the same time?

To be honest, I was trying to figure out what to do with the teacup and saucer. I really don’t have the space for it, so I am glad to be getting a small mug instead, and I love the Le Souk Ceramique styles. (Though I do hope the conditions improve for the Khurja artisans.)

I mostly like the box but I must say that, despite it’s healthiness, I really detest green tea. Luckily my hubby likes it, though.

I’ll likely be swapping the candles; not really my taste. But everything else looks great. Just read something about the many virtues of green tea, so it will be nice to be able to start that habit with very little effort.
