Box of Happies is a monthly subscription box for handmade goods. It’s a great way to discover new Etsy artisans.

The box is always protected by an envelope and lots of bubble wrap!

Included was an information card listing the items in the box. Also, there was a business card for Box of Happies.
Box of Happies Necklace – Listed Value $12
There was a bit of a lighting problem here, the stone is actually a lighter grayish-green. It’s very pretty and it will go with several things in my wardrobe. This is a pretty jewelry-heavy subscription but usually, the jewelry comes in cute little velvet or organza bags or gift boxes so if it’s not your style, it’s all ready for gift-giving.
Box of Happies Bracelet – Listed Value $10
This fits me more like a bangle than a cuff (I have tiny wrists) so it should work for a lot of different wrist sizes. I think the stones are brown goldstone. This will look good in a stack with other bracelets.
Here is another view of the bracelet. Please forgive the cat scratch across my wrist…
Stitched Essentials Card Holder – Value $5.99
I like the fabric on this! When I started my job four years ago, they printed 500 business cards for me. I still have about 497 of them. Perhaps if I carried them in this, I might be more likely to pass them out? (It is also suggested in the Stitched Essentials shop that you can use this to hold a gift card you are giving to someone.)
Here is a look at the inside of the card case.
Box of Happies Silicone Coasters – Listed Value $8
These are fun. I find that silicone coasters are best for hot drinks. They don’t absorb liquid but they protect surfaces from the heat. They are going to my office because Sneaky (my calico cat, for those of you unfamiliar with my cat subscription reviews) has a thing for silicone (seriously) and she will run off with these if I leave them around the house. But I always have hot tea there so they will get used.
Norma’s Bath and Body Handmade Soap in “Sea Breeze” – Value $5
This is a glycerin soap. A refreshing, summery scent is what I need right now (it has finally gotten cold here) and this delivered. The bar is generously sized and priced for a handmade soap, as well.
Verdict: I calculated a value of $40.99 for the December 2016 Box of Happies. As usual, I had to take some of the values from the information card, but I think they’re reasonable, and the mix of items is nice (plus the value is higher than the cost of the subscription). I learned about some new artisans, which is always fun, and I will use everything, plus the value was fairly evenly distributed across the items and nothing felt like filler.
Please note: This box usually arrives late in the month. I am assuming Box of Happies shipped early this month to beat the holiday rush.
What did you think of the December Box of Happies? Do you get any artisan or handmade subscriptions?
