I just signed up for this – but it didn’t allow me to pick – will I just a prepicked curated box from them then?

I think I’m actually going to go with the curated box this month! I really want some dry shampoo, and I am intrigued by those eye pads! (As someone who is genetically prone to dark under eye circles. )

Thanks for all the helpful comments, I truly appreciate it. I went with the Sunday Riley, yay. Thanks to stumbling across this website I have fallen love with it and signed up for four beauty subscriptions. Again, I really appreciated all the help.

I’m new to Birch and have a question for all you wonderful experts. My fist box I started late and wasn’t able to make any choices. My box was meh. So in your opinion is it better to choose the curated box if it seems just ok, or to choose one item that looks decent and pray the other items are decent? Any input would be appreciated immensely. Thanks

Definitely keep in mind that if you pick a sample choice item, you box is guaranteed to have at least one each of skincare, makeup, and haircare items, so if (for example) you pick the acid treatment, that might be your only skincare sample (although Birchbox sends out a lot of skincare stuff and since you’re a new subscriber they’ll probably put in a moisturizer sample or something like that too), but there will also be at least one makeup thing and one haircare thing in your box. In addition, at least one thing from the curated box will probably show up in your box if you do sample choice, but there’s no way to predict what it would be. Some of Birchbox’s samples are miniscule, so one benefit of choosing the curated box is that you know what sizes you’ll get. But I’d say that in general it’s pretty much luck of the draw in terms of what shows up in sample choice boxes

It just depends. If there is one sample in the sample choice category that is worth the $10 (or whatever price point you jumped in at) to you then pick the sample choice because you know you have a sure thing. Otherwise, I’d pick the curated box because you know what you are getting and for me there are usually at least 2 things I like in the curated. This month, in my opinion, that Sunday Riley sample is definitely worth the $10 price point so the other 4 things would just be a bonus. It has RAVE reviews on Sephora! If you hate the curated then you might as well leave it up to chance and just see what you get. **One other thing, if none of the sample choices OR the curated appeal to you, then you can just not choose. Sometimes they will send you one of the sample choices anyway and sometimes they will send you something completely different. 🙂

I broke down and resubbed for the Sunday Riley. Ugh. I just can’t quit you Birchbox. And I want to. I really really want to.
