Can’t do it. I was a subscriber for over a year and just don’t think it compares to other choices out there. I always got hair products which I specifically asked not to get. Did not feel there was anything custom about it. At least with Play I am getting skincare products specifically for my concerns and feel it is a better value.

Yesterday they e-mailed a code for buying a gift subscription for 10-20% off, depending on the length. No reason not to gift yourself the subscription. The codes are:

MERRY3 (10% off, 3 months)
MERRY6 (15% off 6 month)
MERRY12 (20% off 12 month)

Beware that you won’t get points for gifting, at least for sure the annual gift. I gifted and noticed no points, and sent an email asking about it. The answer was that Merry12 code was ineligible for points. I had gifted several subs to my nieces for Christmas, but this has irritated me enough that I do not plan on renewing my own annual sub in a month.

Still cheaper as a gift for a year it’s like 7.59 a month

I’m both tempted and not, simultaneously… The samples have gotten repetitive and the new points system is pretty bad… But, only $7.59 is pretty cheap. I wish I knew if this sub was going to continue to go downhill, or be able to save itself.

Wow, they now charge a $3 “service fee” for gift subscriptions.

I’m so, so, so over Birchbox myself.
