Formula N°2 Lumineux by Baiser Beauty - 1 oz, Value $35
This is a gorgeous product. It’s got a great ingredients list, too: macadamia nut oil, meadowfoam seed oil, lavender essential oil, myrtle essential oil, and mica. It can be used as an illuminating primer, mixed with foundation to add radiance, or as a highlighter. This formula packs a (beautiful) punch with iridescent particles so it will last me a very long time.
Franklin & Whitman Walnut Hill Face Serum – 1 oz, Value $39.95
This is an all-natural, plant-based serum that is a rich anti-aging face treatment. It’s anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant packed to rejuvenate skin. I really love using serums and oils on my face already, and I love this one. It smells nice and feels very hydrating. My skin feels great and looks nice lately, too! Although I haven’t been using this long enough or consistently enough to chalk that completely up to this serum, but I do know I love this serum and feel great putting something on my skin that’s packed with so many good things for it.
Mullein & Sparrow Lemon Rose Face Wash – 2 fl oz, Value $32
Their website says that this face wash “features the gentle cleansing properties of castile soap delicately scented with organic essential oils.” It’s gentle and works well on any skin type. The scent smells like you’d expect from a “lemon rose face wash,” and it removed my makeup pretty well, too.
Bellapierre Derma Renew BB Cream – 1.5 fl oz, Value $75
FYI – you choose your shade when ordering.
This is a pricey foundation! It’s supposed to act as a concealer, foundation, moisturizer, and has SPF 15 (yay!). It’s oil-free and mineral based and should smooth your complexion without clogging pores.
At first, I scoffed when I saw a complexion item here – I’m super pale, and only a few lines actually carry foundations pale enough for me. Also, this looked pretty dark in the tube. I was shocked when this actually worked for me. I have no idea why it looks so dark in the tube but works on my skin, but it does. It leans a little pink/cool for my complexion, which is pretty true neutral (and does better erring on the side of too warm than too cool). But it’s not that bad or noticeable, especially once I get blush and bronzer on too.
Mommy Makeup Stay Put Matte Lip Cream in “Heather” – 0.12 oz, Value $18.70
This shade, Heather, is described as a “dusty pink-mauve.” It’s a liquid lipstick that dries down matte and has quite good staying power. This formula didn’t dry my lips out, either, which is awesome. I think this color is very versatile and would work for pretty much any skin tone!
MannaKadar Dream Palette – Value $39
The last item in the box is the Dream Palette from Manna Kadar Beauty!
This is a great multitasking palette. I’ve seen it around in a couple other subscription boxes so I was happy to see it in this one!
This palette has 6 eyeshadows, 2 highlighters, 1 blush, and a contour/bronzer shade.
The eyeshadows are some nice neutrals and I love that they included 2 matte medium shades – I love using these for my crease.
Here are the swatches for you! I found the formulas to have nice pigmentation, but you can even slightly damp your brush to get a little more intense color. Some of the shades, especially the matte ones, seemed slightly powdery, but as a whole, the palette is very nice. I especially love the blush shade – a little goes a long way with that one!
Here I am wearing the BB cream, Liquid lipstick, and Manna Kadar palette on my eyes and cheeks. A whole face, minus some mascara/eyeliner, in those 3 products! The BB cream definitely has a more matte finish, so I may try mixing it with a little of the liquid luminizer to make it look a little more radiant. It has good coverage, though, and evened my skin tone well.
And here’s a closer look at my eyeshadow, which is an easy everyday look (I used the 2nd shadow shade from the left all over my lid, the 4th shadow in my crease, and the 6th shadow with a light hand in the corners.
Verdict: What a lovely special edition box from Benevolent Beauty! I love the palette, am pleasantly surprised that the foundation works for me, and the rest of the items feel quite luxe. I love how well-rounded this box is in regards to the kinds of products it features. Also worth noting, this ENTIRE box is vegan as well as! As far as value goes, everything totals up to $239.65, which is astounding for a $62 box.
What do you think about Benevolent Beauty’s first-ever special edition box? Are you grabbing one for you or as a gift?
