There was an information card in the box listing the items. It also had my cats’ names!
Premium Catnip Blend from Petsbycarvas (1 oz) – Value $7
This will be good to refresh all the scratchers from PurrPacks. Thankfully the bag is resealable, too. Although Monkey has found my catnip hiding place so I need to figure out a new one…
Mini KitKat Bar – Value $0.25?
This was a bonus item. I am happy to receive it, but I am still drowning in excess Halloween candy so it may be awhile before I get to eat it…
Coffee Cup Catnip Toy from Indigo Owl Accessories – Value $5
This was popular with my crew although I didn’t get any good photos of kitties playing with it. (Rest assured there are plenty of kitty photos in this review.) Indigo Owl Accessories has some pretty cute items in their shop as well as clever staging for their photos!
BFF Premium Food from Weruva (Tuna and Turkey, 3 oz) – Value $0.95
I’m familiar with this brand from somewhere, I think back when I had a different cat who was reluctant to eat. I think it has pretty good ingredients. I am saving this because there is a real chance I will run out of Sneaky’s regular food before my Amazon order arrives and I want to have something to feed her if that happens.
Only One Ingredient Treat (Duck and Sweet Potato, 2 oz) – Value $5.98
I think it is pretty funny how “single” ingredient is hyped so much on this package and it has duck AND sweet potato (doesn’t that make TWO ingredients?).
That aside, I was over the moon to see a duck treat with no chicken or grain. Mr. Kitty can eat those! And he was over the moon excited as well. He ate his (see below) and then he ate most of the ones I gave to the other cats, too. It’s funny because he has terrible teeth (not treating them at this time at the vet’s recommendation, due to his other health conditions) and has to eat pureed food, but he was crunching these like nobody’s business. I was very happy for him, anyway, and he was pretty happy too.
(These are Canadian so you would have to pay international shipping.)
Button Down Dress Shirt + Sweater from Cat Couture – Listed Value $40
I couldn’t find this online because “Cat Couture” is too generic a term to search, so I have taken the value from the information card. In general, the prices on the information card were higher than what I found the items selling for online, so take the value with a grain of salt. (There is a note on the card about shipping costs, which would apply if you ordered the items separately.)
Value aside, I think this was my favorite item in the box. You will see why below. (It snaps in the back and those snaps hold tightly so it will stay on.)
Also, yeah, I didn’t even try to put this on Madison and Sneaky. I didn’t want to have to go to the emergency room.
Gratuitous cat photo time…
Madison was kind of shy last evening but I did get at least one shot.
Monkey let me put the sweater on him. He was more agreeable about it than Mr. Kitty was.
Sneaky doesn’t do costumes. But she does do treats.
I had to wrestle Mr. Kitty into the sweater. He growled and hissed a lot…but it was worth it.
Here is a view of the back of the sweater. Mr. Kitty has an unusual body shape due to four years of being on prednisolone so the fit was a little strange, but the snaps held.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $59.18 for the November 2016 Whiskerbox. That is definitely over the cost of the box, which is excellent for a cat subscription (those tend to be low in value). I think this is the only cat subscription box that regularly sends apparel and I do love cat apparel. Also, I was very happy to get cat treats in a subscription box for the first time ever that Mr. Kitty could eat. (He has inflammatory bowel disease and is limited to lamb, rabbit, and duck with no grains or soy.)
What do you think of November’s Whiskerbox? Do you subscribe to any cat boxes?
