The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. All of their products are vegan (and they tend to be natural, too). They also typically include a nice mix of full size and sample beauty items.

Vegan Cuts sends a single package to subscribers who get both the beauty and snack boxes. The beauty items are separated into a little bag. (If you do not get the snack box, I don’t think you get the little bag.)

Vegan Cuts sent us this box for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This review is of the Vegan Cuts Beauty, $22.95 a month, box.

Red Apple Lipstick in Rebel! (4.5g, full size) – Value $23.50

This is a blue-based red that is absolutely lovely. (Subscribers could’ve received one of two colors.  I guess I lucked out because this one totally was my top choice.) This brand is new to me but it performs very well. Red Apple Lipsticks are gluten free.  I regularly consume gluten but if you have celiac disease or a gluten sensitivity, just think about how much lipstick you are probably swallowing on a daily basis.  This product could be super useful to you if you have a gluten issue.

NCLA Designer Nail Wraps in Ashford White – Value $16

Two different patterns were possible for these based on spoilers. This pattern is probably a better option for me because I have tiny fingers and I have to keep my nails super short since they are not in the greatest shape (the other pattern was pretty but had huge flowers that I would’ve had to cut way down to fit on my nails).

Dermorganic Intensive Hair Repair Masque (2 fl oz) – Value $1.42

This has argan oil, which often works for my hair, but it does not include any silicones. I had to use a ton of this because my hair soaked it right up, so it’s probably not a cost effective item to buy on a regular basis (for me, anyway). I do think it made my hair feel soft, though!

vegan-cuts-beauty-november-2016-soap

Nubian Heritage Patchouli and Buriti Bar Soap (5 oz, full size) – Value $4.99

This has lots of vitamins and essential fatty acids so it is good for your skin (and non-drying) but it also smells really good. I’m familiar with this brand from other subscription boxes and I really like their products, so I was happy to see this (and happy to get a full-size soap instead of a sample like last month).

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $45.91 for this month’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box. That’s a little over twice the cost of the box, so the value is pretty good. I thought it contained a nice mixture of different types of beauty items (i.e., makeup, nails, bath/body, and hair) and I also liked very much that the value was spread a little better among the items as opposed to last month. The red lipstick was a big win for me, too.

  1. I wore the lipstick all day yesterday and it is like my favorite lipstick ever both in terms of color and formula. I am going to have to buy a bunch more of them.

  2. Unfortunately I got the nude lipstick. It has a lovely consistency but the color is bleh. The soap has too strong a fragrance for me but my daughter loved it. Oh well. In general I love the box but this month was only ok

    • I agree on the fragrance!

  3. This box was a big letdown for me. I also got the Rebel lipstick, so that’s going directly in my giveaway pile. I won’t use the nail wraps, so there’s another giveaway. And I’m not fond of Nubian Heritage soaps (they burn my eyes). The only thing I’ll use is the hair masque, which made my fine hair very soft without feeling overly heavy.

    • I would not use that soap anywhere near my face. I assumed it was for the body only (like most bar soaps of that size, especially ones with a lot of fragrance).
