There was a standard information card in the box listing the items.

Laser Engraved Cat Rolling Pin from Rollingwoods – Value $15.99

This is so cool. You roll it over the surface of some dough and then cat impressions will be in the surface of that item once it’s baked. I don’t eat cookies much anymore because of the calories, but this would totally work for crackers, too. (This is a miniature rolling pin, but a full-size one is also offered in their shop.)

Cat Head Cookie Cutter – Listed Value $5

I have a big collection of cookie cutters, but I actually don’t think I have one like this. There was no brand name listed so I took the value from the information card. This is a fun inclusion for the cookie theme, of course.

Cat Print Mini Oven Mitt from Collisionware – Value $10

This is pretty cute, and I wouldn’t have guessed it was handmade until I read more about it. It is quite small but it is good for picking up my tea kettle when the water is boiling.

Catnip Heart Cookie from Legendary Pet Toys – Value $2.75

Catnip Fortune Cookie from K. Grant Designs – Value $2.67

Two cookie-themed toys for my kitties. Please note – they don’t seem super enthusiastic in the photos below, but they totally played with these *after* I put them up in the bedroom. It’s like they just know when the camera is going to be on.

“I Love Cats & Cookies” Foil Art Print (8 x 10) – Listed Value $16

I also love cats and cookies, so this is perfect for me. I need to put it in a frame. I think it would brighten my day at work. This was also packaged very nicely so it arrived in great shape.

Here are some photos of my cats with the toys from the box. They were not really in the mood to play the afternoon I took these. (Cats are moody. Sometimes they cooperate, sometimes they don’t.)

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $52.41 for the November 2016 The Cat Kit. That is one of the best values I have ever seen for this subscription. I thought the theme was very fun and I absolutely love the rolling pin (there are a lot of cool designs on their site, by the way).  The curation was also great – even the cat toys fit the theme.

What do you think of November’s The Cat Kit? Do you subscribe to any cat boxes?

  1. I want that rolling pin! Love how Monkey always seems to be involved in the unboxings. LOL

    • Last night I was taking photos for Bead Crate and WODBOM (exercise/fitness stuff) and all four of them were trying to help…

  2. If I were to subscribe, would I get this box?

    • According to their FAQ, your first box would be December’s.

  3. Adorable, I love everything!

  4. I think the value of the 8-by-10 can easily be halved. But I love the shapes of these catnip toys, and I’ve never seen a rolling pin with cat impressions. What a great gift that would make!

    • They have a lot of really cool rolling pins in their Etsy shop, patterns, animals, you name it. You can get there by clicking the link to the rolling pin above. And they have other laser engraved wood items, too, like cutting boards. They even do some personalization. Definitely a great find.
