Yuni Rejuvenating Hand Crème (1 fl oz) – Value $8

I was familiar with this brand from receiving their shower sheets in other subscription boxes. They actually have a pretty extensive product line. This hand cream absorbed nicely without leaving my hands greasy. It was lightly scented (Nyx kept following me around, sniffing where my hands had been…) and non-irritating.

Youth Lab Oxygen Moisture Cream (0.67 fl oz) – Value $10.44

This product is supposed to help moisturize you for up to 24 hours. I am not really sure how you assess that, as I wash my face several times a day. It includes some antioxidants and vitamin B5 and was lightly fragranced. It is free of parabens but does contain some silicones and also beeswax, so it is not vegan. I do think it absorbed well and it did not irritate my skin. I appreciate that we got a large enough sample for multiple uses, too.

Protes Protein Chips in Zesty Nacho (1 oz) – Value $1.75

I’ve been seeing these in a lot of subscription boxes lately. (They used to be called Protings.) They have a pea protein base that is not my favorite, but the zesty nacho flavor (which is vegan) definitely helps. One serving has 15 grams of protein, which is great, especially if you are tired of protein bars and want something a little different.

Manduka Equa Yoga Hand Towel (16 x 26.5 inches) – Value $16

I couldn’t find this exact color on the Manduka site, but all their hand towels seem to be priced the same. I don’t sweat during yoga because I don’t do hot yoga (I’m more of a fan of room temperature kundalini yoga) but I do love microfiber towels and this will be great for drying my hands during kettlebell workouts so I don’t fling the kettlebell into the TV.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $36.19 for the October SweatyBox. I think that’s wonderful for a box that costs about $13 (including shipping). It is also a fairly typical value for this box, although I note that this month, the fitness item has a bit more value than other months. You should always expect one or two beauty items, a snack, and a fitness item in this box – that seems like a common theme now that I’ve been reviewing it for awhile. I think this is a great little inexpensive box if you like both fitness and beauty items (I do!).

I’m glad to see a higher priced fitness item, but still too beauty focused for me. I have beauty boxes that give me better products – one more fitness related item and I’d be sold!

Their website says shipping is $4.95. Is that just for new subscriptions?

Not sure how I missed the reviews for this one, but what a great box. It seems the value is consistently there (I checked out some older reviews), and has usable items.

That towel and the protein chips look like great finds!

Great review! I may have to sub…you know, to help motivate me in the new year!

You should also sign up for My Fitness Pal. It is free and they have a website (and an app, if you have a smartphone or tablet). There is a good community there for support (as well as recipes, resources, etc.). I lost more than 42 pounds this year by using that site. The people there give very sensible advice. (It’s not just for weight loss. You can also maintain your current weight, use it to gain weight if you are under, etc.)
