This month's theme was Food! The information card gives us a rundown of all the food related goodies and the Stars Hollow ads on the back have been updated! We now have ads for Miss Patty's ballet recital and movie night at the Black, White, and Read Bookstore.
Exclusive Set of 2 Al's Pancake World Melamine Bowls - Value $16.95
I've been enjoying the homewares from past boxes and this is a cute addition! Al's Pancake World is known for starting as a breakfast place but Al got sick of pancakes quickly so they started serving international cuisine. The Gilmore Girls get a decent amount of Chinese takeout from Al's and these are the perfect bowls for that! I love that this came with two so you can share your Gilmore-style dinner with a partner. These are the perfect size to eat cereal, ice cream, or regular old chicken chow mein...if you aren't adventurous enough for Al's chicken chow mein sandwich.
Bamboo Chopsticks Gift Set - Value $7.95
If you order takeout as often as Lorelai and Rory you might want to invest in a set of chopsticks. For how often I eat chopstick friendly food, I didn't own a pair! This set is nicely made and I love the pouch. It is a really cute set to keep for yourself or to give as a gift.
Card by LexyOlivia - Value $5.95
This card covers the important food groups - Poptarts, pizza, tacos, burgers, etc. This design is really cute and the "It's a Lifestyle" quote is perfect for sending a note to your favorite Gilmore Girl. I like it as a card but I'm probably going to keep it as a decoration on my bulletin board.
Exclusive Stars Hollow Apron - Value $14.95
This Stars Hollow apron fits right into the food theme and is something I'll definitely use. I love to cook but I forget to use an apron most of the time. Hopefully, owning a cute apron will remind me to actually use one! I like that this has two pockets on the front, it's always good to have extra storage for recipes, cooking utensils, or anything else you might need in the kitchen!
Eat Like A Gilmore Bonus Recipe Cards
This month included bonus recipe cards from the Eat Like a Gilmore Book! I actually just picked this book up at the Gilmore Girls Fan Fest - where we got to see Caesar try out some of the recipes! It's a really sweet cookbook, full of inside jokes and fun memories so it's great that these were included! Each recipe in the book has a little tag of what place or character it's from so you really get quite a range!
Rory's Bruschetta
As the recipe card mentions, Rory isn't much of a cook so Bruschetta does make sense for her! It's not too complicated but delicious and a crowd-pleaser. I think this is actually the only Rory recipe in the whole Eat Like A Gilmore cookbook! I'm excited to try this out and I think this would actually make a fun and yummy snack for binge watching the new season.
Sookie's Autumn Sangria
We have Sookie's recipe for sangria. I love sangria and this recipe sounds perfect for a refreshing autumn drink!
Luke's Coffee Cake
The perfect companion to all that coffee - coffee cake! This is one of those things that I always enjoy eating but never think to make at home. It's also a great autumn treat so I'm excited to try this recipe.
Verdict: I really liked the food theme this month! As always, their higher ticket items are great and are things I will actually use in my everyday life. I always appreciate when a box includes a pair of something so you can share them so the bowls are a definite favorite of mine! And it was really smart to include chopsticks to use with the bowl and bonus recipes to put your apron to work! The total listed value of this box is $45.80 and I think that's worth the cost of the box for such personalized, quirky items.
