The booklet includes beautiful photographs and lots of information about the included products.

This month’s box is all about “that moment in the night,” and it celebrates that hard-to-describe feeling that comes from a great night out.

robb-vices-october-2016-whisky-box

Virginia Black Whiskey (750 ml) - Value $34.99

The first item I pulled out of this month’s box is a bottle of Virginia Black Whiskey, a collaboration between tequila-maker Brett Hocking and Drake. (Yes. The Drake.)

robb-vices-october-2016-whisky

And just check out the bottle! I think this is definitely one of the swankiest, flashiest (dare I say sexiest?) bottles of whiskey I’ve ever seen. The spirit itself is a high-rye content blend of 2, 3, and 4-year old bourbons. It’s a little spicy, a bit sweet, and very smooth.

robb-vices-october-2016-glasses

Set of Shot Glasses - Value $10?

In the booklet, Robb Vices describes custom-made, gold-rimmed shot glasses, but these are unadorned. We reached out to Robb Vices for comment and they replied to let us know that the gold-rimmed glasses got stuck in customs, so they made a game time decision to substitute them with these. (The booklets were already printed.) I appreciate that they wanted to get boxes out to subscribers asap, and while I’m sure the gold-rimmed glasses are beautiful, I’m okay with the swap.

robb-vices-october-2016-clip-box

ZCLIP Le Mans - Value $149.95

And now on to the hero item in this month’s box, a carbon fiber money clip!

robb-vices-october-2016-clip-unpacked

The clip has a wide design that limits bill crumpling, and it comes with a leather carrier for credit cards. I really like the minimal design.

robb-vices-october-2016-clip

At first, I wasn’t all the excited about this item (I don’t think my husband nor I have ever used a money clip before), but Robb Vices included this suggestion in their booklet: “Ladies, please dispel that notion that money clips are only for men. As Coco Chanel once beautifully mused, ‘Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.’ May we suggest that bulky wallet as a ditchable accessory?”

robb-vices-october-2016-clip-detail

That got me thinking… my wallet is pretty bulky, and it never fits into anything smaller than a large clutch. So, when I carry a small or medium-sized clutch, I always end up just tossing my ID, credit cards, and cash directly into the bag. Wouldn’t a money clip be a perfect way to keep credit cards and cash organized inside small handbags? I’m sold!

Art of Play Ultimate Deck - Value $25

Next up is a beautiful pack of playing cards.

robb-vices-october-2016-cards-back

This deck is a collaboration between Stranger & Stranger, a bespoke packaging company, and The Art of Play, a company that travels the world in search of inspiration for cards, puzzles, and curious home accessories.

robb-vices-october-2016-cards

These cards are, without a doubt, the coolest and most beautiful I’ve ever seen. Every card is printed with an individual work of art, and the designs run the gamut from strange and eerie to whimsical and sweet. I love them! Here are a few close-ups:

I’m tempted to plan a poker night, so I can show these off!

robb-vices-october-2016-marshmallows-pack

Vivéltre 24K Golden Riviera - Value $14.99

In keeping with the overall blingy theme of this box, these marshmallows aren’t just any old marshmallows— they’re coated with actual 24 karat gold!

robb-vices-october-2016-marshmallows

The gold leaf is edible, and the marshmallows themselves are flavored with strawberries, Champagne, and Belgian chocolate. They’re some of the best marshmallows I’ve ever had, and they’re definitely the most decadent. Vivéltre also has a monthly subscription box!

robb-vices-october-2016-cocoa

Christopher Elbow Cocoa Noir (12 oz.) - Value $18

The last item in this box is a tin of drinking chocolate mix. As recommended, I used it (and the whiskey and marshmallows) to make an “After Hours Whiskey-Cocoa.”

robb-vices-october-2016-drink

I think it’s safe to say this is the fanciest hot chocolate I’ve ever had. It was delicious!

I’d like to finish this review with an update. Two months ago, in August, Robb Vices included a gift voucher for a Visionaire Rare Art Edition. Subscribers were able to choose from several different options, and I received mine in October!

robb-vices-october-2016-toys

Visionaire 50 Artist Toys - $175

Here’s a description from the Visionaire website: “For issue 50, Visionaire imagined a set of toys as animal companions to the designer figurines from issues 44 and 45. Consisting of elaborate nesting dolls silk-screened in designs by artists like Alex Katz, R. Crumb, and Tim Noble & Sue Webster (whose creation glows in the dark!), ARTIST TOYS came complete with playful accessories like ears, antlers, and horns.”

robb-vices-october-2016-toys-pack

I absolutely love these little nesting dolls!

robb-vices-october-2016-toys-vonnegut

A few of my favorites include this collaboration between Kurt Vonnegut & Joe Petro III that reads, “Funniest joke in the world/ last night I dreamed I was eating flannel cake/ when I woke up the blanket was gone.”

robb-vices-october-2016-toys-faces

I also really love these funny-faced guys.

robb-vices-october-2016-toys-open

And these bright little geometric bears. I couldn’t be happier with my Visionaire rare edition! These artist toys are SO COOL. This is definitely one of my favorite subscription box items of all time!!

Verdict: Yet again, I’m really impressed with this box from Robb Vices! I think the theme is a lot of fun, and the items included definitely ooze swagger. I feel I’m now well-prepped to host my own luxury poker night! The combined retail value of the items in this box comes to just over $250. That’s incredible!

I’m also really thrilled with my Visionaire Artist Toys. I’ve been excited to receive them since I opened up the August box, and they were well worth the wait! I’m curious to hear about the other Visionaire gift options. Which rare edition did you choose?

I so want to get this for my man but it really expensive… Even if I got one box he may not like everything. We are huge drinkers so… A women one would be amazing. That alone would probably become the best subscription ever…. Or maybe a more women/men type. Whatever the case they have an amazing subscription here and I am dying to get it for my hubby…

I absolutely LOVED this month’s box! I started this sub (as a gift to my husband) last July. Had several issues with CS and wasn’t WOWED by the next few boxes. But this one gave me faith in their boxes. The price for a year sub is really fantastic for what you receive. With the coffee box I ordered more coffee; I have ordered several times from the granola company; I ordered the salt box for an anniversary gift for friends (and they loved it) – only small issue with that gift is a gift card wasn’t included. They called Robb Vices but didn’t get a reply – but a couple of months later I “clarified” that. So, now that I think about it – this sub box may be costing me more money since I seem to be ordering the products included. OH WELL!

I started with the August coffee box which was amazing! I got the scent Visionnaire art. It is a book with photos and then the photos are paired with little spray bottles of scents that are supposed to represent the word the photograph represents. For example, cool is paired with a fresh scent and noise with a scent that smells a bit metallic. I used my $100 gift card to get my son the sound art which is so neat. The little car is actually a phonograph needle to play the records. The records have art displayed on them. The funny thing is I originally subscribed for the coffee items but ended up loving the art just as much.

I thought originally that the September box was a letdown, but my son loves the speaker and it is the cadillac of speakers and the granola was the best I have ever had! I ended up starting a monthly subscription with Sommerhouse granola and also found a recipe on line to duplicate it.

The October box was another winner, though I have the moneyclip up for swap, I am thinking of keeping it. The marshmallows were great, the cards pure art and my 21 year old son is enjoying the whiskey.

This box is among the best for the money though it does lean a little heavy on the alcohol and is a bit on the manly side. I really wish that they would think about doing a more female oriented box as I would subscribe in a skinny minute.

This months box was amazing. I also decided to keep the money clip for myself . I received the Fairytale set from Visionaire but a couple of the books were damaged and the Bjork book did not play. I reached out to Visionaire a few times with no response. I contacted Robb Vices and they responded right away and will help get this fixed for me. Robb Vices is truly a class act and a must keep subscription for me.

Pretty awesome. At first I was thinking $25 for playing cards was crazy, but those cards are a work of art. I think they would look really great hung up as home decor.

Damn, this is a swanky box!! I’d never looked at one of these reviews before and I have to say I’m impressed. Visionaire – WOW!! That’s like a subscription box dream item. And I’m amazed at the price point – $75!! I would expect this to be at least $100. As I’ve said about Bespoke I don’t understand why there isn’t a similar women’s box out there. Something classy and high-end w/out just being overpriced costume jewelry or $600. Anyway, great review and I’m definitely going to check this out!

What is the name of a company that you can ship stuff to and they continue on to ship it to you? RobbVices doesn’t ship to IL, but you can receive alcohol shipments here. So I’m wondering why they can’t get over that hurdle, and I do want the box. Thanks for any suggestions.

I live inChicago and received my first shipment 12/16/16

What part of IL do you live? I am in Chicago and RobbVices comes right to my office. You may want to contact them. Unless there is something weird county/township regs, they definitely ship to Il.

What a stunning whiskey bottle. The whole boxy is amazing. Might need to step up my sub cred and get this one!!

I have gotten rid of nearly all my higher-end subscriptions, Luxe Provence, OuiPlease, etc and if I get rid of my lower end as well I can justify purchasing this! This has got to be the classiest subscription out there (that I’m aware of).

I am so excited to FINALLY be able to subscribe (albeit only this month for now) and I can’t wait to see what is in store for November! I am hoping for a Black Friday deal! I imagine since the gold rimmed shot glasses were hung up in customs that those glasses will likely be in an upcoming box!

I think Robb Vices is the most AMAZING sub ever and I am so excited to be a part of it!
