  1. I just can’t after last year. They sent me broken candles and a bracelet that was the hero item of the box, missing a stone! They never replaced either and shipped some tacky jewelry to replace it

  2. Ugh! I’m holding out for a spoiler. I loved the men’s box last year but was too late and it sold out. I was not impressed with the women’s box, but I’m hoping that they’ll step it up this year after all of the dissatisfaction and complaints.

  3. I already bought one of each but I really really really want some spoilers! Feed my addiction ☺️

  4. I need a spoiler for the men’s box. I am hoping it will serve as sticking stuffers for my husband and teen sons. Last year’s would have worked week for that purpose but they are so inconsistent that I won’t pull the trigger until that spoiler comes.

    • I bought the mens box for my son. I doubt I will buy the womens box because the big item is usually a piece of jewelry that I don’t care for.
Hoping this years boxes will be better than last!

    • Agree. I really liked the Men’s box last year, but the one before that was not good at all, IMO, so waiting too ……..

  5. No way without a spoiler. Last year’s box was tragic. It was the worst Limited Edition box ever.

    • Agree, and the customer service issues with getting replacements for the broken candles was a mess.

    • I didn’t love last years, aside from discovering my absolute favorite lotion of ALL time…but I swapped the rest easily for things I really wanted so it was a WIN for me!

  6. Spoiler, spoiler, spoiler!

  7. Liz, off topic but what do you do with all of the items you receive? Do you sell/swap them? Do you use the swap board at all? Do you give everything away? You should do a Q&A 🙂

    • seconding this! It takes me forever to work through many of my beauty samples you probably get 100x more than me- very curious what you do with your stash.

      • I’m guessing she has 100 scarves, 500 candles, 1000 tubes of mascara, and 2000 bottles of dry shampoo LOL

I also second the fact that it’s taken ages to work through things. So much so that I’ve enlisted the help of my entire family to go through the endless tubes of moisturizer and they let me know what they all like best. Face moisturizers/toners/etc has gone on to work as body lotion as I have so much of it.

    • I pretty much don’t buy anything that isn’t from a subscription box these days, so I’d say about 90% of everything in my house is subscription box items at this point! I’ll sometimes gift items if they are perfect for a friend/family member, and then we donate unused items to our local Dress for Success and Goodwill.

Good idea about a Q&A – it’s been a few years since the last one! I’ll do a post soon asking for questions. Thanks! 🙂

      • Woohoo! I’m excited to read the Q&A. I’m sure others feel the same way – that you’ve worked hard to create a community here and we’d love to learn more about the process. Please make it a comprehensive one!

I’m also the same way – so many of the little things I used to buy at Sephora/Ulta/drugstores are gone. I get dry shampoo, sticky tape, blotting paper, etc etc from these boxes, not to mention jewelry, home ware, etc, for less cost and higher quality. Boxes have been a win win for me, for the most part.

I’m sure long time subscription members now outfit their whole house in Popsugar finds lol

If I can contribute a question here, which boxes do you think are the most worth it? What is your favorite box (month/year, specifically) of that favorite box? What has been your favorite ITEM of all time? What is your favorite discovery of all time?

        • My house is definitely outfitted in POPSUGAR finds! 🙂 This is a pretty standard convo I have with friends/family members:

          Them: I like that ________ (nail polish/shirt/purse/necklace/etc).
Me: Thanks! I got it in a box!

And I’ll those questions to the list – thank you!! 🙂

          • A standard conversation at my house, this deep into the subscription box game:

Them: Can I try this ________? (dry shampoo/blush/face cream sample etc).
Me: Take it! I have forty just like it.

Thank you Liz! Very excited <3

          • Hahaha! Yes! Love it! 🙂

      • I’m the same way – kinda gets embarrassing tho when ppl ask where something came from and my answer is always “subscription boxes” ☺️

      • Yes a Q&A would be awesome! I so love reading all of your posts! ❤️

    • I’d be interested to read about the results of the survey MSA did a while back!

  8. Last year I bought it without a second thought. And it was awful. (The only thing I had any use for was there bracelet as a gift for his mother. But it came with the center stone missing and the replacement didn’t come until well after Christmas. So that killed that.)

This year… Not. Without. A. Spoiler. (a good one.)

    • I agree! I bought the box quickly and was looking forward to it and was extremely disappointed 🙁 I think I still have most of it up for swap and the only thing I even kept was the bracelet. The Fall box was amazing though so I am hopeful but I refuse to give in without a spoiler… lesson learned lol

      • I agree. . last year’s holiday box was so underwhelming. I gifted the candle holders to my sister in law, who is an artist. She seemed to really like them. Everything else was OK, but I didn’t like that the high ticket item (bracelet) was actually painful to wear and left red marks on my wrist.
It’s still not a bad deal if there are just 4 items that are gift-able, but I’m holding out for a spoiler this time around.

    • I have bought every single $100 LE box since fall 2014, and loved every single one but last holiday. I have the $100 budgeted but I doubt it will sell out, but I need a spoiler. As much as I love home items, we have 4 cats and 2 dogs (one passed away last summer and one this summer), and I do not decorate much for the holidays. Table runners, Christmas trees, candles are all cat toys! Last year’s candle and candle holder will go to my MIL this year, and so is the body lotion. I am not hard to please, I even love the white rose gold head phones. But since they removed the “her” I am going to hold out.

  9. I caved on the women’s box, but I’ll wait on the men’s. I was in the minority and like last years box (except the broken candles).

  10. I caved during the presale. Grabbed both and didn’t think twice. I’m confident it will be worth it. Others seemed to have approved of this year’s LE boxes but I’ve loved them all.

    • Meh–others seemed to have disapproved*

  11. I am holding out for a spoiler and I have been checking for the Net-a-Porter box. Has anyone heard if there will be one and if so, when?

    • I reached out to Net-a-Porter – I’ll let you know when I get info on the upcoming box!

      • Thank you so much Liz! I appreciate all you do us and our subscription addiction.

        • Thanks so much, I am so looking forward to the next Net-a-Porter box.

      • I keep checking their website-like multiple times a day! I need that Net-a-Porter box!

  12. holding strong and waiting for a spoiler after last year’s box

    • I’m trying to stay strong lol. Trying to avoid this without a spoiler and the D.L. & Co holiday box which looks so fabulous.

      • The D.L. & Co. box is swoon worthy.

        • I got the DL & Co and I’m impressed by the amount of items in it. So many goodies to give out for holidays. The box itself is pretty sturdy too! Definitely worth the ?

  13. I need spoilers. I only bought it one year and really didn’t care for it but everyone else loved it.

  14. I really hope there is a spoiler soon. Last year’s box was meh, and the disaster with the candles (though they were only tapers) makes me nervous to get this.
