OrangeGlad includes a really beautifully designed booklet to accompany the sweets, that gives a little information on the individual artisans and the goodies themselves.
You have no idea how excited I was to see Mayana included in this box! They make some of the best chocolate treats. However, I was really bummed that everything in the box was completely melted. The Kitchen Sink bar was melted beyond recognition and the eyeballs were melted puddles of chocolate goo when I first got the box! I contacted customer service and they responded very quickly offering to send another box or credit my account.
The Kitchen Sink Candy Bar by Mayana - Value $7.00
This candy bar has peanut butter, pretzels, caramel, salt, chocolate, and crisp rice included to make one absolutely amazing candy bar. I still enjoyed this one, even if I couldn't exactly make out what it was before melting.
Toffee by Mayana - Value $6.00?
Anything by Mayana is amazing in my opinion. It's all really high-quality chocolate and just really delicious - this toffee was just as expected - buttery, chocolatey and amazing.
Chocolate PB & J Eyeballs from Tumbador Chocolate - Value?
These eyeballs are like PB&J truffles - peanut butter and raspberry jam all covered in milk chocolate. They were delicious even though I'm sure they were cuter unmelted. This was an exclusive item crafted for the box.
Chocolate Ghost Lollipop from Tumbador Chocolate - Value?
This was delicious milk chocolate - what else can I say, other than it was super adorable and yummy?! This was also an exclusive item crafted for the box.
Chocolate Pumpkin Pie Soft Bake Biscotti - Value $1.50
This Pumpkin Pie biscotti has Guittard chocolate with the perfect amount of pumpkin and spice for a morning treat. I really enjoyed this with my coffee!
Verdict: I love Mayana chocolate so this box was automatically a winner for me, even though it was a bit of a melty mess! I would say since OrangeGlad doesn't do warm weather shipping protection, if you live in a warmer area, don't subscribe during the summer months when they might send chocolate!
Value really trips me up on this box. I always enjoy the products, but don't always consider everything worth the box cost. I think this box would be a great 'extra' each month but just don't expect an amazing value!
