Le Tote is a month-to-month clothing rental subscription. When you sign up, you browse their catalog of clothing and accessories and create your “closet,” from which they select items to send to you. You keep the clothing to wear as long as you like, and you can also send back your box for a new selection of items as frequently as you like. If you love something enough to want to purchase it, you can simply hold onto it when you send the rest of that box back. Also, if you purchase your whole tote, you get one month free!

COLE HAAN Basket Weave Bar Earring – retail: $38, LT price: $29

I really enjoyed wearing these earrings! They’re cool and flattering and not statement or too eye-catching.

le-tote-october-2016-inside-items2

Here’s how they looked on – I wore these pretty much the whole week.

KENNETH COLE REACTION Mini Backpack – retail: $69, LT price: $55

This mini backpack is a really cool accessory. It’s a great size and shape and I found I actually loved carrying a backpack instead of a tote!

le-tote-october-2016-inside-items4

The quality was nice and I was really tempted to keep this – I just wish there had been some side or front pockets.

le-tote-october-2016-inside-items5

AVA Cap Sleeve Top – retail: $60, LT Price: $29

This top is so cute – the print is so bright and fun and the cut is super flattering! The fabric was a little thin (not sheer though) so I ended up wearing a navy cardigan over it.

THREE DOTS Cowl Neck Marbled Top - retail: $128, LT price: $96

So, on Le Tote’s model photo, this top looked a little oversized and tunic-length. It’s definitely neither of those on me. That being said, this shirt was so comfortable and I felt it was flattering. Great top!

JACK Side Zip Moto Jacket – retail: $88, LT price: $68

I wanted this jacket to work for me, but sadly it doesn’t.  I like the color but the torso was either too big or just too boxy and was short so it just didn’t work for my body.

Now, onto the second Le Tote I got in October!

le-tote-october-2016-inside-items8

IMOSHION Ice Cream Clutch – retail: $30, LT Price: $12

Oh, my goodness. How stinking cute is this clutch? I seriously love the print. Silly and playful and especially perfect for summer.

le-tote-october-2016-inside-items9

It’s a great size, too – big enough to hold everything but still easy to grab and go.

le-tote-october-2016-inside-items10

French Connection Rectangular Hoop Earrings – retail: $24, LT Price: $19

I picked these earrings because I thought they looked interesting – and I like them!

le-tote-october-2016-inside-items11

They’re understated but different! Very cool and chic and go with anything.

C. C. MALANDRINO Sunset Stripe Tank – retail: $48, LT Price: $38

I liked the idea of this top but I didn’t care for it on me. I think I’m too tall for the designs to hit me in the right places. If this could be tunic-length on someone, with the stripe pattern changing on their hips, I think it’d flatter much better.

KUT FROM THE KLOTH Digital Print Blouse – retail: $68, LT price: $54

I should have tried a size down in this top, but overall I like it! It’s a little sheer but still totally wearable and I like how the print almost looks like a funky digital floral pattern.

VINCE CAMUTO Chiffon Dandelion Dress – retail: $99, LT Price: $74

I loved this dress! I thought the dandelion print was pretty. It was a slinky, relaxed-fitting dress so it was very comfortable, too. The sheer part at the shoulders and neckline was a fun detail without being too revealing.

Verdict: I had fun with my October Le Totes. I got a great amount of wear out of quite a few pieces for sure. I really wanted to keep both sets of earrings, too, but I settled on wearing them a lot and planning to keep my eye out for similar things!

My very favorite part of this sub is that I can keep the items as long as I like and wear them before deciding if I want to buy them or send them back. Sometimes it takes feeling how a piece wears before realizing that it won’t actually work for you, or that it’s itchy, or stretches out easily, or something like that. I also feel like there is minimal pressure to buy items since it is a rental service and not a styling service. I feel this aspect gives me permission to enjoy (and wear!) the clothes and not feel bad or awkward when I send everything back (even though I do often keep an item per tote sometimes).

Evaluating the value is a little tricky because I think the value of renting clothes and accessories is pretty subjective and different for everyone. I can see this being a great service for someone who uses a “capsule wardrobe” or someone who doesn’t like to wear the same thing twice or has a lot of social events to go to, or even women in the process of losing weight!

Based upon all your reviews, I subscribed to LeTote. All my items arrived very wrinkled and rather worn. I’ll give it a couple of months, but was very disappointed in my first box.

I know this is super old, but I just signed up and the exact same thing happened to me! I’m so disappointed! I sent photos of the clothes to them explaining how they’re all too worn and shrunk in the dryer! I’m so disappointed! Did you ever figure anything out? Did it get any better???

Does anyone know if the NOV50FOR2 work on the $39/month subscription? On the site I can’t enter the promo code without charging my card 🙁

I personally thought that sunset top was stunning on you. Not sure what you meant by not hitting in the right places but it looked awesome!!

Paula

Wow! I thought it was stunning as well! I actually did a double take and scrolled back up to look again! Those colors on you were jaw dropping!

Oh oh oh… I must have that ice cream clutch! You should have kept that! $12 for a clutch that’s the perfect size AND flippin cute to boot!? I would definitely have kept thst and started turning over every little Le Tote rock to find more pieces from the brand! Whew! I’m actually going to look for it, to buy it n g self! Now, another quick comment. I know you say that certain things do not look good on you, but, seriously, in my opinion, you look great in everyyhing you tried on! Of course, some looked better than others, but EVERYTHING looked GOOD! I wish I had that skill! Lol. My favorite piece (other than my completely obvious obsession with the clutch) was the digital floral top. That one was a keeper too. Gorgeous! Do you know how Le Tote gets their pricing? I thought it was interesting thst yhe cowl neck top was considerably more expensive than the leather moto jacket! Like $30 more! That’s kinda crazy… Maybe it’s about the brand, b/c I can’t see how that top was more than a leather jacket! Anywho, just to reinforce the compliment… you looked GREAT on everything!

Please ignore my typos. I am terrible at typing on my phone! Sorry!

Haley, I love your lipstick in the last three photos.

Question, are the earrings…rented too? I might feel weird “renting” earrings like that.

Reply ButtonReply

Rhi

I was thinking that too. I don’t think I could “rent” earrings. I would just keep thinking about the ears of person who wore them before me… were they clean? Were they infected? Yep, couldn’t do it.

Connie

Haley, your hair color is absolutely gorgeous!

Oh, Thank you Connie! 🙂

Just an update. Le tote no longer offers a sixth item when you purchase an item from your tote. I found that out this last tote. They apolgized and said they changed their policy.

Haley Faye

Oh, thank you! We will be sure to update that.
