Golden Tote recently began launching seasonal Puella Golden Edition Totes, which are one-time purchases of items within a mini Puella brand collection.
This is how it works: You get to customize your own “tote” by choosing any number of item options from the collection. Inside my tote, they included a packing slip. I got 1 of each item, but like I said earlier you could buy as many or few products in whatever variations you wanted.
The Panel Top – cost: $58
This shirt was available in either this striped teal material or a grey material. I love it! It’s a great color for me and the fabric is a thinner knit so it’s breathable but not sheer at all. The asymmetrical neckline is a cute detail, too. The fit for this top on me is perfect, which I’m really happy about. This has been my recent go-to top since I got my Puella tote.
The Elbow Patch Swing Dress – cost: $78
This dress is super cute, but it definitely has a different fit than other Puella swings, if you’re familiar. I normally size down, but this one is a shorter design. In fact, it’s really really short on me. Normally I’d pair leggings with a swing for winter but I’m just not sure what color leggings to pair with this, so I don’t feel like that’s the best solution for me. Golden Tote’s customer service was able to send me an exchange for a bigger size, and the length is better. I do love the wide blue trim and the matching elbow patches, which I’m usually picky about. The body of the dress is an off-white/cream with stripes alternating between red, grey, and blue – what can I pair this with to cover my legs, especially in Winter?
The Favorite Maxi – cost: $98
I think this dress is my favorite thing from the Fall Puella collection. It was offered in this purple paisley print, a solid navy, and a solid magenta. Honestly, I want one in every color but I chose this one because I have nothing else like it in my wardrobe. I was excited to see the print in person because part of me was worried it might lean a little old but I really am happy with it! This maxi is crazy comfortable. The fit is effortless and flattering, and I love the neckline. I know this will get a lot of wear this season!
The Dolman Cardigan – cost: $68
This cardigan was available in this print (that matches the shirt print I picked), or white. I liked this material a lot and won’t reach for a white cardi much so I picked this colorway. I don’t generally care for dolman sleeves/styles much – they usually just feel weird and uncomfortable on me. I could get past that with this cardigan, especially because the material is so thin and soft, but the sleeves are just a bit short on me and I wish the whole thing was a smidge longer, too. I’m going to try wearing it a couple times to see if I can get past it or push the sleeves up to ¾ to make it work, but if not, I might return it.
The Relaxed Jersey Pant – cost: $68
This pant came in this solid navy or a purple paisley that matched the maxi dress. These pants are so soft and comfortable! I’ve been wearing them all the time at home. I spoke to customer service about choosing my sizes before I ordered, and I’m grateful for their help because they suggested I size up in these for length since I’m tall. They were right, and these are a great length for lounging for me. I also wanted to err on the side of a looser fit, so it all worked out.
Verdict: My picks from the Puella 2016 Collection Launch add up to $370 but I got 45% off because it was over $300, bringing my total purchase to $203.50, which I’m happy with for what I got! I also appreciate that Golden Tote seems to be able to offer exchanges and returns which I think really helps to ensure satisfaction. Everything is so comfortable and definitely well-made. I am really enjoying these seasonal Puella mini-collection totes!
