Bullymake Box is a monthly subscription box for power chewers. You all have heard about (and seen) some of Nyx’s exploits with plush toys from dog subscription boxes so when I heard about this one, I had to sign up immediately. Nyx is definitely a power chewer! You pick your dog’s weight in 10-pound increments so this is a box for an 80-pound dog (Nyx weighs about 87 right now).

My Subscription Addiction paid for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This review is of the Toys-only, 80-pound, $39 a month, box.

The Subscription Box: Bullymake Box

The Cost: $40 a month (save with 3, 6, and 12-month subscriptions)

The Products: Toys and treats specifically tailored for heavy chewing dogs (no plushes). You can also choose a “toys only” box. Because of Nyx’s dietary issues, I went with the “toys only” box. You can also enter specific allergy information in a box on the checkout screen.

Not all boxes are the same due to the fact that you can choose your dog’s size in 10-pound increments, choose a toys-only box, etc., but there is usually an information card highlighting an item or two from the box.

Spunky Pup Alien Flex “The Hammer” (large) – Value $9.99?

I can’t find this for sale anywhere so I have priced it the same as other Spunky Pup toys that appear to be about the same size. This apparently is made from bacon-flavored nylon (thankfully I can’t smell it). I think that is definitely helping keep Nyx’s interest, and so far her digestive tract is doing OK with it. Spunky Pup toys are usually pretty sturdy, too.

Sodapup Can (XL magnum) – Value $21.99

I think this is the first time in all my months of subscribing to Bullymake Box that I’ve gotten a repeat item. This is definitely heavy duty. It can be used for dispensing treats (which Nyx typically can’t have), or you can put a little wet food or peanut butter or something just on the inside to stimulate interest.

Jolly Pets Jolly Tuff Teeter (s/m) – Value $7.27

Jolly Pets is a brand I see often in Bullymake Box, but their toys do hold up pretty well. This is another one where I can put a little wet food inside to stimulate interest. Nyx has lately been very interested in some older Jolly Pets toys we had around from past boxes, too. I like to change out her rubber toys to keep her mentally active.

JW Pet Company “Bad Cuz” – Value $6.99

I bought one of these for my last dog and she wasn’t so into it. But Nyx thought it was great when she was younger. (She did eat its feet and horns.) These things make the funniest noises when the back is a little wet with dog saliva. (They squeak, but it takes pretty powerful jaws to make that happen.) Anyway, I'm glad to have another.

Petstages Beyond Bone Clucktastic Tasty Dental Chews (2.7 oz) – Value $2.75?

I’ve linked to a similar item from the same brand since I can’t find this exact shape. I think this was pretty much just an “extra” since I do have the “toys only” subscription and the value is fairly low. These are dental chews made from US-grown chicken and turkey. I will have to pass these on to another dog to enjoy since chicken is definitely out for Nyx due to her IBD.

Here is Nyx with one of the toys. She was a bit tired at this point because this was the sixth toy in a row I had given her (on the same day). But she has had one of these in the past and found endless amusement with it.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $48.99 for the October 2016 Bullymake Box. That is above the cost of the subscription by about $10. The toys were all heavy-duty and I don’t really even mind getting a repeat – Nyx has no idea it’s a repeat! It smells new to her, so it is new. I like that I have the option to get a toys only box, due to Nyx’s dietary issues, too. This was a pretty good month for us.
