benevolent-beauty-october-2016-info

Every box includes a folded info card.

The inside of the card provides details about each item and the retail values. I think it’s cool that they use a mark to indicate every item that is also vegan.

Medusa’s Makeup 100% Maracuja Oil - 0.34 fl oz, Value $12

Maracuja oil is really Passion Fruit Oil, which is good for pretty much any hair or skin concerns you can think of: acne, anti-aging, dry skin, dry and damaged hair, massage oil, and even muscle aches. It has high Vitamin C which is good for promoting radiance and brightness and fighting free radicals.

Modish Polish, And You Are? - 0.5 fl oz, Value  $12

This is a pretty new brand to me but I love it. It’s 5-free and cruelty free and vegan. “And You Are?” is a cool deep violet shade.

benevolent-beauty-october-2016-items3

Slightly messy application, but this is 2 coats of the polish. It’s full opacity after 2 coats and I am thrilled with how quickly it dries. Seriously – this is so important for me. I even tempted fate by applying this while my toddler was actually awake. Fortunately, by the time he needed me (which you know wasn’t after long) my nails were completely dry and didn’t get messed up by picking him up or changing his diaper or his little hands grabbing mine or during a tickle fest.

LaRitzy Eyeshadow, Iced Malted - 0.52 oz, Value $16

This eyeshadow is paraben-, gluten- and cruelty-free, as well as USA-made and vegan. This Iced Malted shade is a slightly warm, shimmery neutral color. The formula is creamy and blends very well. This color would be gorgeous on any skin tone and it’s easy to wear.

Tat2U Hyper Lip Liner Pencil, "Hyper" – 1g, Value $14

This lip liner is a deep purple berry shade. It’s one that is absolutely perfect for Fall and Winter and flattering on anyone. This formula is fantastic, too. Super creamy and pigmented and has great staying power. On its own, it has a solid matte color or you can use it under lipsticks to alter the color intensity and make it have a longer wear time.

Tat2U Matte Lipstick, “New Generation” - 0.16 oz, Value $16

This lipstick is from the same brand as the lip liner and the color is practically identical, which I like because it’s a set that I can use together for long-wearing holiday lips! This formula is also super pigmented! I was impressed when applying. It’s a dryer formula so it really feels like it clings to the lips and has a long wear time, but it wasn’t so much that it dried out my lips or was uncomfortable. I love it!

Ardency Inn Punker Eyes Like Fire Shadow – 0.077 oz, Value $21

This is a very interesting product! It’s a waterproof cream shadow pen. Basically, when you twist the base it pushes a super pigmented, very black cream up to the brush. This is designed to give you an easy and quick smoky eye.

The product is actually quite liquidy for being called a “cream.” This is great though because it means a little goes a long way and makes blending easy.

Here are swatches of the lipstick, lip liner, eyeshadow, and cream liner pen.

benevolent-beauty-october-2016-items10

Here, I’m wearing the LaRitzy eyeshadow in both photos, but the difference is that in the LEFT photo I’m wearing the lipstick by itself and on the RIGHT is the lip liner by itself. You can see that the liner is just a little darker and more matte.

benevolent-beauty-october-2016-items11

Here’s a better look at the eyeshadow, and here I am also wearing the lip liner and lipstick together. With both of them at the same time, I’m really confident you could get really great wear all through a holiday party! I love this color so much!

Verdict: Benevolent Beauty is one of my newer favorite Beauty Boxes! Every month I love at least a couple products that are new discoveries for me and I have yet to be disappointed in the quality of the items. The value is also consistently fantastic. This month adds up to $91 which is what I’ve come to expect from this sub.

I felt the same upon opening. I was intimidated with the smokey eye, the “purple” liner and lipstick seemed too out there, and grey nail polish was a “really?”

I have received so many compliments on my nail shade, it easily lasted 2 weeks and the shade goes with everything! I have almost mastered the evening smoked eye because it blends so easily and my lips pop ? with the deep fall season.

I just love that I switched to this subscription to get away from LaRitzy once they started their own cosmetics line (which I wasn’t happy with). And what do I get? A LaRitzy eye shadow. Sigh…Like the lipstick and liner at least!

If I remember correctly, a LaRitzy lip product was also in September’s or October’s Lip Monthly bag. I thought it was interesting they’re now distributing their products in their competitors boxes.

I gifted that black eye shadow pen to somebody, and I felt so bad because as she clicked the product up (a little over zealously, I guess), she ended up with a big ol’ black splotch, about 6 times the swatch shown, on her hand! Ack! She’ll be using it as a liner, but I’m so curious how that could be used as a shadow.

Ardency Inn says to apply a very small amount to your lid and use your finger or a brush to blend blend blend into a smokey eye. I definitely don’t think it’s meant to be used as an “easy to wear” or daily look… I think it’s to make getting a true smokey eye faster/easier. 🙂

I absolutely love this sub! Every product is full size and truly high end. I received a medium gray polish – such an intense shine and rock hard. The polish lasted twice as long asOpi does.

Haley, I agree, after trial and error I found a nice soft touch with my pinky finger worked best!

I also had a hard time getting the product out of the application thing only to have it suddenly clump out all at once. I found that the brush part of the applicator was really harsh and irritating on my eyelids. I also thought that the intense pigmentation of the black was way to dark (like black ink!) to be used as an every day eyeshadow – nor did it blend well. Otherwise the box was wonderful, just that one miss for me.

I also would like to know how to use it! I never do a smokey eye so I’ll probably gift mine as well.
