Briogeo Don’t Despair Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask – 1 oz – Value $9

This mask is free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates – and it is safe for color treated hair!

There are two ways to use this mask – let it sit on your hair for 5-10 minutes after massaging it into your roots, then rinse out. Or for deeper hydration, cover your hair in a plastic shower cap and sit under a dryer, applying direct heat for 30 minutes, then rinse.

I tried the 5-10 minute version, and I could definitely feel a difference in the softness of my hair after using it. I’m still trying to figure out the right ratio of this mask to my hair. (One time I overdid it and had oily hair, and the other time I didn’t use enough and couldn’t really feel a difference!)

This liquid lip has great pigment and good shine, too. I wish it had a better flavor/scent, though. (Swatched in lower photo.)

The shades are all shimmery, with the two outer shades having the most sparkle:

I was very impressed with the pigment in these shades. Here they are swatched beneath the Manna Kadar Lip Locked:

BB5 Cut That Crease Brush – Value $10

I believe this is the first time Beauty Box 5 (BB5) has included their own branded item, and I like it! (I’m all about getting makeup brushes in boxes, I can’t remember the last time I actually bought a brush!)

Verdict: This month’s Beauty Box 5 has a value of about $39! I think that’s great for a $12 box! And everything in this box is super usable for me, too.

What do you think about the November Beauty Box 5? Did you like this month’s box?

FYI – If you sign up for a Beauty Box 5 subscription by the 21st of November, the November box will be your first box!

  1. Oooh, I’ll have to check out those face wipes! I thought they had aloe for some reason but I just double checked and they don’t 🙂 I also just finally used the Briogeo hair mask last night and I love it. My hair feels so soft!

  2. Does anyone know if we took advantage of the black Friday deal yesterday if our first box will be this box or the December box? It says if you sign up before the 21st you get the current month, but I’m not sure if on the 21st is included.

    • If you ordered yesterday, November will be your first box; yes the 21st is included.

I asked BB5 this very question yesterday right after I ordered a year long subscription. I was canceling my month to month, and asked if my year long could started in December. They said they were sorry, but no, all of that was automated, so I’d be getting two November boxes. Not that I mind too much; it’s only $7 and I’m sure I can find someone to give the extras to!

  3. So I missed out on this box, but I’m definitely going to sign up for the $84 annual sub today. Seven dollars a month is a no-brainer – that is one lunch out. Even if you gift and/or trash half the stuff, you are still ahead, and I’ll get to try many things I wouldn’t have tried otherwise. I’m impressed!

[Briogeo has stuck that overpriced conditioner in every single beauty sub box in America multiple times in the past two years, but hey, conditioner is always usable.]

  4. This is my 5 th month with BB5 and although they do send the same neutral colors pretty much- I use and like everything they send. That $84 per year sub is worth it to me. This month I love the crease brush and the lippie.

  5. I must be in the minority, but I don’t like bb5 at all. I think the quality of items sent is cheap and mostly not full size. The eyeshadow looks like something from a kid’s playset, so over briogeo and manna kadar. I won’t use anything from this box, except makeup wipes. This was my second box and I won’t be back.

  6. I always enjoy beautybox 5 .Sometimes I really love everything in the box other times maybe I don’t love them but I’ve always liked them. And I’ll throw this on the table, in my experience with them they have the best customer care. And that’s very important to me knowing if there is a problem they will always fix it ASAP .So I’ll continue with them thinking of getting the year subscription

  7. I don’t want to sound dumb but what is the brush for? Is it just for your eyelid crease? I use makeup but I have to admit I’m far from an expert.

    • I just got this brush from their mystery box & i use it for my entire eye lid. Works great for me.

  8. How is the value of not-full-size items determined?

Even though I rarely commit to subscriptions, I decided to go for their year for $84. At $7 a box, even if I only like one thing and give the rest to friends, I can afford it. This will be my first monthly box from them. When I ordered it earlier in the month, you could also get a $10 mystery box with free shipping, so I got that, received it last week, and loved everything in it. I was thinking of buying some of the previous boxes in the their shop but decided to wait and see if they had a deal, and I am so glad I did!

  9. In July, BB5 included their own branded Round Blending brush as well! 🙂

I really wanted to take advantage of the Better Than Black Friday deal BB5 was having, as I thought that was an awesome deal. But, for next year, I don’t want to commit to anything longer than a 6-month subscription, so I’ll sadly have to miss out on that offer. Hopefully, something else will come along within the next few days.

  10. I’ve literally gotten all of this in the past few months in other boxes. Well, except their branded brush, lol.

  11. I’m so tired of getting Briogeo and Manna Kadar in my boxes, and to get both in one box, wow. I don’t think I could be more underwhelmed.

  12. I think September’s box is my favorite so far, but this box is still great. It’s like the beauty box gods knew my crease brush would break because I got three this month! I love the lip color and the trio is adorable

    • September’s box looked good to me and I actually had it in the shopping cart to order last night and then changed my mind at the last minute. I think that I’ll go ahead and take the plunge if it’s still available today.

      • Do it! I love the hair towel and it’s normally 18$ but the whole box was $15. It’s the main reason I bought it. Everything else was great too.

  13. I won’t be continuing my BB5 sub, but that’s only because I have too much makeup right now. I think its a great box, and well worth the money.
