  1. I am a surgeon at a busy hospital so I rely on little treats like these boxes to help me unwind after a looong day! But 450.00 for a box of makeup just isn’t going to happen. I’d rather use that money for a nice romantic weekend getaway with the husband or something else. But for everyone who did buy it enjoy and don’t feel you have to defend your decision to buy!

  2. Oops… looks like my prior comment isn’t showing (I’m guessing because of the links I included), but in addition to the boxes I listed in my comment that’s not showing, I came across the following box (and I’m re-listing the boxes I mentioned before, but without the links):

    – Byrdie (Meet the Review by Byrdie) $128 (a $330 value); It’s on the byrdie dot com site under Byrdie Beauty Box Review

For those that like natural beauty products:
    – Integrity Botanicals (Ever Green Limited Edition Box) $195 (a $265 value)
    – The Detox Market (2016 Best of Green Beauty Box) $149 (a $270 value)
    – Beauty Heroes (The 13th Beauty Discovery) $45/$48 (a $87/$96 value) (depending on box purchased)

    • Of course… I should have known… my original comment miraculously appeared after I posted my 2nd comment (I wonder why this happens sometimes with my MSA comments). Sorry for the double postings!

    • Last post, I promise…..
In case anybody wants to look up the Review box by Byrdie, the link is:

I found it difficult to locate the box by just typing it in their search field.

  3. Lord have mercy! That is a pricey box. Even doing $100 boxes makes me a little anxious (but I get over it). I just think if I’m going to spend $450, I’d rather choose exactly what I want. But if I had money to burn, I’d jump for sure.

  4. I saw it and went “ooh pretty!” Then I saw the price and went “ooh nope!”

  5. I’d grab this in a heartbeat if I hadn’t just purchased a ton of beauty products from Barneys (oh, and “thanks” for the heads up on this box, Barneys). For my lazy yet humble life, this one box would take care of Xmas shopping for my mom (3Lab), my three sisters (cosmetics) and myself. Geez, I’d throw in an extra 50 bucks just to avoid shopping malls and lines this season.

    • I bought last year’s box earlier this year, during some event where you get a gift card of a certain amount for every $200(?) you spent. Also, some were still available in February when they did their semi-annual Love Yourself GWP offer. I wouldn’t doubt if that would happen again. Typically, their GWP bags are worth over $450 anyways so you could get ~$1,900 worth of product for “only” $450. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Am I the only one who instantly ordered? The Net-a-porter box was phenomenal for me (and that was $195), and this one looks even better. Sure $450 is a lot, but this is only realeased once a year.

*PS I do make my own money, support myself, and I’m single and don’t have children.

    • You owe no one an explanation.

    • Congratulations! If that is what you want, get it!

    • You don’t need to quantify. Enjoy!

    • Thank you, you guys are so nice.

I just meant that a lot of ppl have children to buy gifts for, I do get that it’s not cheap. I’m not totally out of touch.

    • You’re not alone! I bought last year’s box which was around the same price and value as this year’s, and it was completely worth it to me. I just regretted not getting the grooming box as well. So, this year I’m planning on getting all three boxes, with absolutely no regrets or apologies to anybody. ๐Ÿ™‚ I really like how the grooming boxes also include some gender neutral products, so I plan on keeping those and gifting the men’s items (along with a few of the items in the women’s box). I don’t mind the duplicate items I will be receiving because that’s some good stuff, in my book!

Just my two cents… don’t ever feel like you need to justify how you spend your hard earned money to anybody! We all work hard for our money, and if we’re fortunate enough to be able to spend some of it on things that make us happy, whether it be things, experiences, donations, or all three(!), then do it!!!! I hope you enjoy your box! ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Work hard, spend harder! ๐Ÿ˜œ I’d buy this if I wanted it but I’m burnt out with everything I’ve bought so far. If the desire strikes at some point, then I’ll buy it then.

        • We’re worth it! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m sure you’ll have plenty of time to purchase it later if you decide to, as I doubt it’ll sell out any time soon. ๐Ÿ™‚ I was a little disappointed there were a few more products than I anticipated in the women’s box I won’t use… the eyeshadows & neck cream will be gifted to my mom, the dry shampoos will be donated, but everything else I will gladly use.

But I agree about starting to feel the burn out…. I was already starting to feel it a bit before this came out, but I just know if I didn’t get I’d be suffering from I-didn’t-buy-it remorse since this is such an awesome deal (to me), and I know I’ll use (and am excited to use) the products.

          • Jo Malone, Diptyque, lookfanstic, several Popsugar LE, PS mystery, PS for him, FFF + add ons, several LF bumper box, a few bespoke boxes, Net-A-Porter, Yuzen, Art of Organics, Pearlesque, Book of the Month, hell, I even got suckered into Oui Please again! ๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜– holy crap! My husband said I can open my own store! ๐Ÿ˜

          • Ha!! My family said the exact same thing about me!! They said I have my own little pop-up Sephora/Ulta/Barneys in my bedroom. It’s so true too! I even have everything displayed all prettily. I figure if I’m going to spend that much money on products, I’d rather display them all nice so I can see & appreciate them (before I use them all up), rather than throwing them in a box or drawer where I’ll most likely forget about them.

  7. The price of this box is the cost of economy class ticket to Paris. Hmm. Box or Paris? Paris.

    • Agreed! I just bought tickets to both Costa Rica AND Malta for less than this box, thanks to some good Black Friday airfare deals. I’m feeling pretty good about spending the money on some great experiences instead of yet another dry shampoo.

    • I see your point, but the people who can afford this box don’t have to pick between the two – they can afford both. Those people are not ME, but I’m just saying ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Where did you find a round trip ticket that inexpensive? I just booked a ticket to Paris for April, and it was just under $1,000 round trip from O’Hare here in Chicago. Direct flight to de Gaulle. I couldn’t find a flight nearly that inexpensive. I must have missed something. Lol.

  8. here is a breakdown (it might be a bit off)

    โ€ข Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate 30ml- $36.60
    โ€ข Rene Furterer 5 Sens Hair & Body Oil 100ml- $52

  9. Unfortunately, I took a bite of my lunch as it scrolled down to the price, which caused me to choke on my sandwich and required medical care that was just under the price of this box. ๐Ÿค‘

    • Lmao…eating spaghetti…not good

    • I was eating corn nuts and about choked on them when I saw the price. Holy crap. Great products if I was rich!

    • Hahaha

  10. Unless there’s a tummy tuck in that box, it won’t be coming to my house! $450 is way too much, especially when I have a (greedy) child to buy for.

    • Wow! Ching Ching $$ too rich for me

    • LOL ๐Ÿ˜‚That “tummy tuck” thought though ! Hehe I love you. !

  11. I set aside funds for this as I was anticipating its release. Sadly, I am underwhelmed. Many of the brands are the same as Net-A-Porter, too many hair care items that feel like fillers, too many eye shadow palettes, too many of things I don’t need or want anymore.
Maybe I’m having a little burn out from all the special edition boxes and Black Friday and Cyber Monday…and on and on and on…..
    Saved myself $450 ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. I think I could buy what I would use out of this box for less than $450. Eek! Kevyn Aucoin and Hourglass palettes are $58 each and Rituals shower foam is $15. Would be a fab gift for someone with more ๐Ÿ’ฐ than me!

  13. Might have splurged at $200.00. Feel the Net-a-Porter was a better deal for me and more useable items since I do not wear eyeshadow.

  14. At first I was like- oh yes!!! Then I saw the price tag, and my jaw dropped. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
I still want a pop sugar box, but have a problem with that price tag.

  15. My goodness. I guess I’ve been living under a rock because I had no idea that Barney’s did a beauty box. How decadent! Sadly, this one is not in my budget at the moment (Black Friday and Cyber Monday took a mega-toll!!!) but I LOVE that so many of these brands are now familiar to me thanks to sub boxes, so there’s that. At least I know what I’m missing!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway, what a fabulous treat for a lucky few…ENJOY!!

  16. LOL. I can imagine my husband’s reaction if I asked for the first one for Christmas. “But honey, it’s valued at over $1,400! You are basically getting $1,000 of products for free.”

    • But you can get him the grooming box for “only” $250!

      • One of the rare times it is cheaper to be a guy.

        • Grooming and personal care items are generally cheaper for men.

        • I think it’s generally always cheaper to be a guy. That’s what the whole “pink tax” uproar is all about.

  17. That is a lot of dry shampoo and eye pallets for that price point. A pass for me, the NAP was bad enough but I am enjoying most products I received.

  18. Oh my but I want it so. That’s just a whole lot of money.

  19. Oh sure we all have an extra $450 lying around for a beauty box.

    • LOL

    • I know, right? I was merely wondering if I should go from a $10 a month sub box to one that is $15!

      • Thats $150 a yr… and most of us have at least 2 boxes… so easily $250 a yr for what…(5ร—12ร—2boxes=120 little samples?)
So it comes to double the cost to get maybe 10 FULL size items through this box?… i think if i cold pick one or the other…i would still stick to the small sample boxes, but thats probably bc im kind of a beauty world newbie and want to try everything out before I commit….im almost past my sampling phase…maybe next yr Barney, maybe next yr… ๐Ÿ˜™
Yup…major commitment issues right here ๐Ÿ˜‚

        • Oh, more like almost 22 products! …thats alot!

    • Haha

  20. Not for the faint of heart.
