3b-box-october-2016-mask-pack

It's Skin Todak Todak Pack in Pore Care - Value $3

Todak Todak masks have been featured in multiple subscription boxes that I now consider it a classic! I've received this Pore Care type in a Jini Beauty box before and really liked it. This is which is a wash-off clay mask designed to minimize pores and control oil production. It is a pastel green color and smells like apples. I don't need a lot to cover my whole face so this container will last me at least two uses. After washing off the mask, my face feels baby soft and my pores look temporarily smaller.

3b-box-october-2016-toner

Neogence Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion, 30ml - Value $3.33

Don't be caught off-guard: "lotion" in this case means toner. This toner is from the Taiwanese brand Neogence (not to be confused with the Korean brand Neogen). It contains hyaluronic acid and is alcohol-free. It helps with flaky, irritated, sensitive, and acne-prone skin and claims to keep skin hydrated for up to 24 hours. The toner has a barely noticeable scent. It also keeps any dryness I get from cleansers at bay. Overall this is a great find.

3b-box-october-2016-shampoo

Lador Damage Protector Acid Shampoo - Value $10

This is a shampoo designed to clean your hair effectively without stripping it of natural oils. The bottle says this is for dry and damaged hair. The last thing my hair is is dry but I still enjoy using this shampoo. I really like the fragrance- to me, it smells like a custard dessert. It lathers nicely and doesn't leave any heavy residue after rinsing. Overall, a great product. I just wish I had received a corresponding conditioner as well!

3b-box-october-2016-sheet-mask

When 10:00PM Sheet Mask - Value $7

This bio-cellulose sheet mask is vegan. It contains hydrolyzed collagen, Vitamin C, antioxidants, and amino acids to restore tired, worn out skin. The gel mask is protected by two films, so you have to peel those off before applying to the face. The gel-like mask adheres well and stays moist for quite a long time. The essence is slightly thicker than water but it dries quickly with a smooth, matte finish. I'm impressed that there is no residual stickiness at all! I'm definitely going to purchase more of these in the future.

Etude House Moistfull Collagen Deep Cream, 10ml - Value $2.72

This facial cream contains 49% collagen for smooth, youthful skin. It's also formulated without parabens, talc, and mineral oils. This is a thick, rich cream so I use it sparingly. It has a floral fragrance that disappears pretty quickly after application. It is deeply hydrating without feeling too greasy or sticky. I use this at night as the last part of my routine and wake up to soft, nourished skin.

Verdict: I loved the October 3B Box! The total retail value this month was $26.05, which well exceeds the cost of the subscription. I'm so happy to have found the When sheet mask because it's hard for me to find a mask that makes my skin feel soft and smooth after use AND doesn't feel sticky. I was impressed by every single item in the box, which is pretty rare. I also appreciate that there were no foil samples this time.

This is my favorite beauty box. I love the It’s Skin Todak Todak Pack in Pore Care and got three uses out of it. I also LOVE the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Deep Cream and will buy it full size when I run out but it seems you only need a little to get results so I wont need to buy this for a long time. Its a good sized sample that was included.

I’m glad I read this, I WAS fooled by the word ‘lotion’ on that Neogence product. Thought it was awfully thin for a lotion.

While I love their products, I think what I love most is that they charge you the same day they ship out your order. It seems like I see a lot of companies who charge you on the 1st but don’t send anything out until the 29th (or later) resulting in two charges and nothing to show for it. Can’t wait for 3B to add more stuff to their store!

FYI, collagen can’t be vegan. It is only produced by animals in connective tissue. (“Hydrolyzed” just means it has been cut into smaller pieces, either through the use of enzymes or by another method.)

It is possible the mask is vegan and they are using a polymer that has properties kind of like collagen.

Hi Nancy!
Do you have any tips on how to remove that 2nd protective layer from a bio-cellulose sheet mask without the mask coming off your face?

I used one last weekend (from Leaders), and after placing the mask on my face (after removing the 1st protective layer), I tried to remove the 2nd layer, but it basically just took the whole mask off of my face. That was even with me trying my hardest to keep the actual mask on my face as I peeled back that 2nd layer. It made think what was the point in putting it in on my face in the first place (per the instructions). Do you just peel both layers before applying to your face? That’s what I’m tempted to do next time. Thanks!

Thank you EC & Nancy for your replies. 🙂 Removing both layers first makes the most sense to me. Being a newbie, I was just trying to follow the instructions on the packaging even though it didn’t make much sense to me.

Hi Luna! It’s kinda trial-and-error so I have no definitive answer for you 🙁 I generally have better luck with bio-cellulose masks than hydrogel masks. I sometimes take all the protective layers off beforehand. There’s no huge difference in either method, it might just be more slippery than if you were to handle the protective film? But at the end of the day I don’t think it matters.

Yes, you’re supposed to remove both layers before applying. I’ve never tried removal once it was on my face but imagine that wouldn’t work well.
