treatsie-september-2016-front-info-card

Treatsie always includes the cutest info cards! This one is autumn themed and says "Time to turn over a new leaf."

treatsie-september-2016-info-card

Treatsie lists all of the products, along with a description, on the back of the info card!

This month they also included a little note saying that two of the cuit products were freshly baked and should be enjoyed by October 14th.

Treatsie has been having a rough few months - they were very behind on shipping, etc. I'm hoping they make it back from this hiccup smoothly!

Cuit Raspberry Crumbler Bar - Value $4.00?

This raspberry crumb bar is LIFE. It was so delicious. There are three layers: the shortbread-like crust, the jammy raspberry center, and the buttery crumb topping. The flavors worked together so well, and it was all I could do to not eat this in one go!

Treatsie Almond Toffee - Value $3.00?

This toffee is coated in milk chocolate and is perfectly crunchy - just like toffee should be! I really enjoyed this.

treatsie-september-2016-pecans-whoopie

Treat Bake Shop - Candied Pecans - Value $6.00

These pecans are covered in caramelized sugar and they are delicious. These would be excellent in a salad, or chopped on top of a pumpkin pie with a smidgen of whipped cream!

Cuit Caramel Apple Whoopie Pie - Value $4.00?

This whoopie pie sounds amazing, but it really fell a bit flat. There was some caramel apple flavor there but the outside cake was pretty bland and lacked moisture. I didn't finish this one!

Here's a closer look at the Raspberry Crumbler and Caramel Apple Whoopie Pie:

Verdict: This Treatsie box had three really great products and one product that fell a bit flat. With all of the shipping delays and issues that Treatsie has had recently, it probably would have been wise to come out and wow subscribers, and this box didn't feel like it had any wow factor. The value seemed to fall a little bit short for a $20 box but I'm hoping for better things as we move toward the holidays!

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

Was promised a refund months ago and never got it and now they won’t answer my emails and there is no phone number. Sad.

Do not order this sub box. We signed up in November as a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law, and she has yet to receive anything. We have tried to contact the company for a refund and have gotten no reply aside from a few form apology emails stating that they would be shipping soon. We ended up contacting the better business bureau and we were not the first ones. It’s too bad.

Long delays in shipment, inventory that hasn’t changed in months, and then their statement about losing “several core team members” (which usually indicates payroll glitches)…I’m not optimistic about their ongoing viability. It’s a shame, but they’re not getting another dime from me until I see some signs of life.

I subscribed for one month (September 2016). If you choose to subscribe even after reading the Facebook comments and the Yelp reviews, I strongly urge you to keep a careful log of your payments and communications to and from the company to be on the safe side. You may have no problems, or you may have to make several requests for a refund, as I did.

Former Treatsie Customer

WARNING: before anyone subscribes and/or purchases anything from their shop, please go on their Facebook page. It is FILLED with customers that can not contact them, either via e-mail or toll-free phone #. Appears that something bad is going on with this company. I believe they had sent out an email apologizing for past problems, but looking at all the current issues, they obviously haven’t worked things out accordingly.

Although I have usually enjoyed this box I cancelled once I received the shipping notice for this box due to the IMO lousy customer service. They say the box is supposed to ship the week after the 15th of the month. This September box did not ship until almost the middle of October. Towards the end of September I e-mailed them. They did not respond at all. I do understand that they sent some subscribers an e-mail explaining the delay — I was not one of those subscribers. Additionally, there’s a note stating to eat or freeze the Cuit products by the 14th. Since I received this box on the 14th, that was barely doable. And I agree: the products have gone downhill. So all in all, I can find better uses of my $20.

I thinking its a good idea but they keep going up in price and giving to less and less. They can’t even give you what you payed for. So sad. I have a feeling they are not gonna be around for much longer and many have is cancelled.
