  1. My fave advent calendar is l’occitane’s. I big it every year and my mom and I always use everything in them. The theme is always cute and price reasonable.

  2. I wish they made more candle advent calendars.A few are way to high and Yankee is such a rip off. 20 + for 24 tealights when you can buy 2 boxes on sale for 10 bucks. The other issue is I am not a huge fan of Christmas scents either. I wish they made a with candles, beauty and etc. Surprise jewery inside some of the candles and inside the suprise door they would be giftcards in some calendars as a bonus. Dreaming right..? ? Maybe next year. Lol

  3. Super disappointing….this is just a mash-up of the exact same products from their smaller Beauty Kits. Nothing new or special…

  4. Look Fantastic calendars may still be available for those that are disappointed in this and really want a calendar. It’s $95 so a bit more and of course, I only have last year’s calendar to base my hopes on this year being good.

    • Also, I noticed that the Lookfantastic calendar is being sold by a lot of other merchants where you can apply discount codes to get it for ‘only’ $70+. The same goes for a lot of other advent calendars I’ve been seeing (i.e. being sold by other merchants, not just the company that makes them). I think next year, I’ll be more patient and hold off until late October or early November to see what deals are out there.

      • Hey Luna, what other merchants? I bought 2 from LF but will get more from others if I can get it cheaper. You always have the best info!

        • The latest one I’ve seen was from Skinstore. They had a code SAVE20 to save 20%. However, I just looked to see if this code still worked, but the calendar is now marked as being sold out from their site.

Barney’s also sells the Diptyque calendar.

Of course, now that you asked I can’t seem to easily find any other merchants in my recently deleted emails mentioning other companies advent calendars (sorry!), but I swear I saw a few of them. I have to be honest, I only did a quick scan for the month of October since there were probably a few hundred to go through. If I see any others, I’ll seek out one of your MSA comments and reply to it to let you know. πŸ™‚

          • ? I’m eagerly awaiting Net-a-Porter holiday box. I think it comes out next week. I got Diptyque from their boutique. Then I think I’m all done ?

          • KarenG, Net-a-Porter… oh boy I want to buy something of theirs so bad! I almost bought a summer box that Liz reviewed here and everything looks amazing.

So this beauty advent calendar stuff is new to me this year and I’m wondering: if they don’t sell out, will these things go on sale or what?

          • heat7918 – If I remember correctly, the calendars usually will go on sale if they don’t sell out near Christmas. I also remember seeing a lot of posts in January on different blogs still mentioning 2015 advent calendars that hadn’t sold out yet…. and some were discounted.

KarenG – I’m also looking forward to Net-A-Porter’s holiday box! πŸ™‚ I think this year I’ll only be getting the Lookfantastic & Decleor advent calendars. I had so many others on my list earlier this month, but either the products were disappointing, the price point was too high to me, or if I was willing to purchase it, I already had most of what the calendar contained. I’ve been hoarding my rewards points I’ve accumulated all year at the various merchants I frequent (also any rewards points from cc’s), which I plan to finally use in November & December on all of the holiday deals that come out. πŸ™‚

          • Heat 7918, I think you’ll like Net-a-Porter. Last year, they released on Nov 2, so I’m expecting the same time frame.
Luna, I wish I was more disciplined. πŸ™‚ I think I will get my fix this year and be much more discriminating next year.
I will however, watch out for those sales at the beginning of the year!

          • KarenG – Believe me… I think I’m only slightly ahead of you in showing any restraint. πŸ™‚ This was the year of the beauty boxes, beauty deals, GWPs, etc. for me. Prior to this year, I was only subbed to one box (for around 3 years), and I only partook in GWP or beauty deal offers if I actually needed anything. For some reason, this year I just decided to give in to my urges, which has actually been very freeing and fun! However, since I have SO MUCH now it’s getting easier to be more decisive with some of these deals/boxes/etc. BUT, there are still some great stuff out there I’d love to still get my hands on, but only if there’s some sort of incentive for me (i.e. discount, GWP, multiple points). I include LE boxes in the ‘discount’ category since the RV is usually greater than the price paid. I’m really looking forward to seeing what’ll be coming out in the next couple of months!

  5. Darn… I was really looking forward to this calendar coming out, but unfortunately it’s a bust for me. πŸ™ Thanks to sub boxes, GWPs, beauty deals/steals, etc., I actually already own all of the items that appeal to me in this calendar. While I like the products, I don’t like them so much that I’m willing to spend $63 for dupes. It’s good in that I’ll save this $$$ for something else I don’t have and want, but it’s kind of a bummer because I was so looking forward to purchasing this.

  6. I was waiting for this to come out because I thought it would be the one I purchased but after seeing the products, I’m not so sure. I’m really only interested in 14 out of the 24 items in the calendar…..

I really want an advent calendar this year but I can’t decide which is best and I know they’re going to sell out!

  7. I might have bit at $50 with free shipping, but I think the price is too high. Agree, I want the total rv. I think I would only use about $50 worth out of it.

  8. Agreed, I want it so bad. I just ordered the L’OCCITANE calendar. Do i need two? Maybe!

    • You could use one in November and have a countdown to Thanksgiving! Would work great for one that isn’t holiday themed.

      • ^^Genius Zo!!

      • That’s what I did, but starting using them before it’s even Halloween. So I guess I need 3: Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas ountdowns.

    • I bought the L’Occitane a couple weeks ago and loved it so much I just got a second one. Hubby loves the scents and told me to go buy some more lol! No waiting till December for me!

I did look at some of their smaller sets, but they only included a few items. This one’s got lots of goodies. I got free gifts, and samples with mine, too. Or use a $10 off coupon and get one for $45, free shipping.

  9. Ughhh j want this but not sure I need it lol

  10. Heaven knows I don’t need this and curious what the retail value is… but I think this is the best mix of products that I’ve seen and it includes great brands! I want!!
