As always I appreciate a printed list of the products in the monthly subscription. There were a ton of products so it was fun when I poured them all out on the table.

The printed insert also included a challenge to support this month's Lanterns theme. Subscribers can submit a photo with a short story related to this challenge and the winner receives a special gift in their next bag.

Race belts are a quick and easy way to secure your race number. No more safety pins or holes in your expensive running clothes! I’ve never used one of these but I think it’s a great idea.

LED wrist watch - Value $4.99

Most exercisers (and even many non-exercisers) own a fitness tracker these days and this is a very cheap version that is not exciting. I think my daughter may like this so I will give it to her.

Arctic Ease Instant Cold Wrap - Value $2.49

My husband opened this up right away and used it. He said the sample size band we received was too small to be effective and that when he tried to reuse the band a second time, it fell off.

Finisher’s Medal - Value $2?

These other items are just fun race paraphernalia that runners might receive (or pick up at from race advertisers) at the end of a race. They don’t really have much to do with running in general but since My Run Bag is simulating 5k races, they fit in with that idea.

Verdict: My Run Bag is a fun subscription! All the products are similar to what runners might receive after a race which is why it was enjoyable to dump out on the table and rummage through. I wouldn’t mind seeing all the post-race items (food, etc.) in a separate bag with the intent to be opened after running the 5k. I think it would be even more inspiring to finish the race first before getting your prizes. The value items I received was $42 which was more than the cost of the subscription. I don’t think this box is about value though- it’s more about the experience and the motivation. This would be super fun to get with a group of friends and then all go run (or run toward) a 5k.

“Items that will really help you with your runs!”

They should really rethink that line. 🙂

This looks like leftovers from a swag bag – I don’t think the race number or throw away drawstring bag actually have any value. Who wants a race medal from a run they didn’t do? From the title I hoped this was a bag with running gear – socks, clothing (not an old race shirt), etc.
